PFEIFFER Mrs. Edna EUzabeth Johnson Pfeifer, 75, died Sunday, Mar. 13, at 9 p.m. at the family home of natural causes. She was born Aug. 22, 1890, in Payson, a daughter of Philo and Lucy Ann Elizabeth Simmons Johnson. She married Louis Pfeifer April 18, 1918, in Evanston, Wyoming. She was a member of the LDS Church. Surviving are her husband of Payson; three daughters, Mrs. J. con- ducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in fhe Payson Third Ward chapel. Burial was in the Payson City Cemetery. 1 I I 1 3 1 ANDREW BORGESON Andrew A. Borgeson Sr., 74, died Saturday, March 12, of natural causes in a Salt Lake hospital. He was born Oct. 14, 1891, in Santaquin, the son of Andrew and Necoline Olsen EMMA WILSON i Emma Jane Bingham Wilson, 78, prominent citizen of Pay-so- n, I died Saturday, March 12, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Daren Young, Spanish Fork, after an illness of several t weeks. She was born Feb. 13, 1888, in Payson, a daughter of Joseph H. and Emma Jane Powell Bingham. She married Alfred Raymond Wilson June 26, 1907, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died in 1928 when he was bishop of Payson First Ward. She was educated in the public F 2 4 J i schools of Payson graduating as the youngest member and valedictorian of her class. From the time she was 13 years of age, she held positions in the LDS Church, serving in the Primary, Sunday School, M.I.A. and Relief Society in both stake and ward capacities. - M rs. Wilson was the local correspondant for Salt Lake newspapers, the Daily Herald of Provo and the Payson Chron-- 1 icle for some 30 years. Follow-- 1 ing the death of her husband, she took over the insurance agency he founded, and was, active in this capacity until the time of her death. She also served as Registrar of Vital1 Statistics for Payson from about 1930 until the time of her , r ' 1 1 u I F ee F V F a death. For her community work she was honored as citizen of the year at the annual Candle and Carol Service in 1940 and was named Mother of the Year in F o C F F She has served as a member of the Library Board and as a committee member for many community events. She was a long time member and past president of the Cultus Club. She has given freely of her time through her hobbies that included creative writing, dramatic art, flower growing and arranging, cooking and handwork. Surviving are 3 sons and 3 1952. X 2 ! Wilson, F ei A rs EMMA MADSON Emma Elena Tanner Madson, 78, died Saturday, March 12, at 11 p.m. in Payson Mrs. City Hospital after a lingering illness. She was born Dec. 18, 1887, the 11th child in a family of 14, to WilUam Smith and Jane Moore Tanner. She married William Hyrum Madson Feb. 5, 1913, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died a number of years ago. Mrs. Madson was educated in Payson schools and was a member of the first graduating class from Peteetneet School (8th grade) in 1903. After her mothers death in 1907 she took over the care of the family. She wrote most of the 700 patriarchal blessings given by in Payson, Clarissa her father. She became secretary of the Second Ward Primary when she was 13 years of age and served as secretary and teacher under several presidents. For some ten years she was president and counselor in the M .I.A. and also served as ReUef Society teacher and LDS garment representative. She was a member of the Sego Lily Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Surviving are four sons and two daughters, Max T. Madson, Glenn Dale, Maryland; Raydon Madson, Frank Madson, Pay-so- n; and Halvor Madson, Murray; Mrs. Max (Melba) Nelson, Genola; Mrs. Miles (Betty) Hurst, Payson. A son, Elbert M adson, a Payson school teacher, died about three years ago. Also surviving are 32 grandchildren and one brother, Kenneth J. Tamer, Payson. Borgeson. He married Johanna Van Tussenbrook on Nov. 5, 1920, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church, being a High Priest at the time of his death. Survivors include his widow; six children: Mrs. Lyn (Jon Marie) Bray, Antioch, Calif.; Mrs. Donald (Clara) Goudy, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Wesley (Nellie) Morgan, Tuscaloosa, Ala. Mrs. William (June) Hubner, Rochester, N.Y.; Mrs. Lynn (Caroline) Ballard, Rockville, Washington Co.; LaVina Borgeson, Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Ben (Emily) Bunker, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Owen (Rhoda) Marley, Armino, Idaho; and one son, Andrew Borgeson, Jr., Santaquin; 25 grandchildren. Funeral services will beheld Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Santaquin-Tint- ic Stake Center. Friends may call at the Keith Jolley Mortuary in Payson on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday prior to services. Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery. anna C. LERWILL Anna Catherine Jensen Lerwill, 87, formerly of Payson, died Tuesday morning, March 15, at the home of her daughter in San Jose, Calif. She was born Oct. 4, 1878, at Goshen, a daughter of Hans and Cecelia Jenson Jensen.
