This is their way of stating their feelings for this country of ours. It is their way of expressing their character, personality, and value system. It is one of the most beautiful sights on horseback which can be seen. The Flying U presentation this year includes seven closely matched brown horses with seven young ladies dressed in shirts of red, white, and blue. Six of these horses enter the ring and perform their manue-ver- s. A seventh then bursts into the arena and mounts a ped-ist- al which is soon surrounded by low flames and begins to rotate. The narrative and the raising of old glory adds to the beauty of the spectacle. The horses used by this company are well trained, beautiful animals. Our thanks go out to all the horsemen who give us the opportunity to thrill to the sight of our flag, whether it be in our local parades, horse races, horse shows, rodeos, or any other events where the effort is made to display this type of patriotism. third. In the A main event Monte Rolinson, first; Steve Colledge, second; and Doug Walker, third. There were 4 modifieds from Ely Nevada this week. John Devel lost his steering going over the end. Jack Destifam rolled. Steve Losee went over the end in the C Main. Jorgen Boyer rolled in the B Main. John Frampton rolled and Jim Hix hung on the edge of the Main. Zman Each year as we attend the Ute Stampede in Nephl, we are thrilled with the patriotism presented by the Flying U. Rodeo Company. Their opening ceremonies are impressive and beautifully done. We pick the Ute Stampede because that is the one rodeo we usually manage to attend. Others are equally good and impressive, too; but this one is the one we are more aware of. Each year as Old Glory Is paraded around the arena those flying steeds, a chill runs over the audience and a lump rises to the throat. After the first flurry of the flags, the announcer states that all may be seated if they wish. The seating process seems a trifle long as the spectators view the scene before them.
