Show The Payson Chronicle, May 28, 2003, Page 16 Blackhawk Encampment Set For Santaquin Park Programs for the annual Blackhawk Encampment have been set for the event starting Sunday, June 22, at 7 p.m. at the Santaquin City Park, 200 South 400 West. The program has been arranged by Rose Shepherd of the Blackhawk Committee, and the encampment is under the direction of Commander Clark Nelson of Salem. The encampment will run from June 22 through June 26 with campers leaving on Friday, June 27. Those people planning to camp for the occasion may bring their RVs on Sunday, the 22nd. A total parking and entertainment fee of $45 will be charged by the City and the Blackhawk organization for the entire encampment. Monday, June 23, a flag raising ceremony will be held at 9 a.m., followed by a welcome by Santaquin City Mayor A. Ladue Scovill. The opening program will be held Sunday evening at 7 under the direction of UDean Camp and frinds. Monday's schedule of programs: 1 0 a.m., Talk on Chief Blackhawk by author of The Storm Testament," Lee Nelson. 2 p.m., Nash Family of Tooele, Utah. 7 p.m., Jane Tanner. 8 the Janet p.m., Krueger Family Entertainers. Tuesday, the 10 a.m. program will feature David Thomas, soloist. At 2 p.m. the popular singer Hal Wing will perform. 7 p.m. through 9:45 p.m. will feature the entertainment of Dave Ekins and his dance band. Featured at 10 a.m. Wednesday will be the entertainers A1 Ewell and Eddie Smith. At noon a special lunch will be served to those making previous orders. 2 Starting at p.m., the Blue Grass Five will entertain. The Tuckett Brothers will entertain that evening starting at 7, followed by the Old Time Fiddlers. Thursday, beginning at 9 a.m. will be the annual Arts and Crafts Show and sales at the City pavilion. Annual elections will be held at 2 p.m. This will be followed by a program furnished by those attending the encampment. Equestrian Program The Utah County Wrestling Camp with Terry Brands and Lee Fullhart, sponsored by Payson High Wrestling Dept, w ill take place July 3 1 Aug. 2 at Payson High School, 1050 South Main Street. Terry Brands was Head Coach at the University of Tennessee-Chattanoog2000; Bronze Medalist; 5X World Team Trials Champion; 3X U.S. National Freestyle Olympic 1 992 Champion; 2X NCAA Champion at Iowa; 3X Big Ten Wrestler of the two-tim- e world champion; and two times NCAA champion for Iowa. Year; Terry is one of the most accomplished wrestlers in US history. Brands finished his Hawkeye career with an impressive record of 137-7-- 0 (.951). In 1992, he completed his senior season with an undefeated record of 35-Wow! The cost for the camp is $80.00 if prepaid by July 1 st or $90.00 at the door. All ages are encouraged to participate.
