Childrens Theatre once again comes to the stage of Payson High School as Three Fairy Godmothers, readies for its opening on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11th and 12th, at 7:30 p.m. Playing the three fairy godmothers are Cheri Barnett, Valorie Brook and Venice Moon. Also starring in the cast are Wade Russell as Prince Royal and Irene Bowen as the Princess Dulcie. Wade is a junior and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Russell. He wants to work in the field of speech when he graduates. Besides his hobby of collecting pennies, he enjoys radio speaking and story telling. He played one of the bears in Pale Pink Dragon. Irene was in Pale Pink Dragon," playShe loves dramatic ing a readings, music, swimming and horseback riding. When she graduates she intends to become a social worker. Adding comedy interest to the play are two students who are no strangers to the stage. In the role of the wicked witch. Black Barbella, is Lois Behling, daughter Blood needed There is a time in the lives of all of us when there come a real need. This need has now arisen in the Richard Money home. The surgery of Geraldine Money required 83 units of blood. We of this area would like to extend aid to the Money family. They would be most appreciative, because as all of you know blood is very expensive. Could there be a more appropriate time of year to be a blood donor? Lois played a witch in Rumplestiltskin as a sophomore; the Negro cleaning woman in Night of in Jan. 16th, and Princess Pale Pink Dragon" as a junior. This year she was student director for Blithe Spirit. She wishes to become a speech teacher. She loves acting and has done Pea-Gre- en pantomine for competition. Gary Peterson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton J. Peterson, plays the dumb son of Black Barbella in the character of Org. He was in Rumplestiltskin," and Dope as a sophomore. He played Valerio in Night of Jan. 16th, and was in Peter Pan," PassioneUa," and Pale PinkDrag-o- n. His hobbies are junk art and guitar playing. For competition he has done extemporaneous speaking, announcing legislative forum and debate. Others in the cast include Robert Barn-e- r as the King; David Burton as Prime Minister; Shelia Christensen, Sandi Barker and Renee Jones as Nadene Thorn as the cook; Mary Jo ManweU as the maid; Chad Smith as the count; Christ Sevens as the servant and Gail Wienie and Debbie Talmage as animals. The play is directed by Joan Christensen and Connie Frederick, a BYU training teacher, with Noreen Rasmussen as student director. The story of this delightful fairy tale centers around the three fair godmothers who upon reaching the age of retirement have lost their magic wands. On their way to try and reverse the decision of the council they try to help Prince Royal overcome the wickedness of Black Barbella and her dumb son, Org. No one can stand Princess Dulcie because of her meanness and so the fairy godmothers try to make her sweet. This is no small task and fun and laughter are the keynote of Ladies-in-waitin- on Dec. 5, 12 and 19. from the Provo area. The beautiful evening of entertainment will be one of delight for people of all ages. A house to house canvass will be made by the Elders Quorum members to give all people an opportunity to hear this delightful entertainment. Proceeds will be used to build the Missionary Funds of the three Quorums. Leading out in the special entertainment are the Quorum Presidents, Gary Brown, First Quorum; Archie Alexander, Second Quorum and Don Franks Third. Will you please be sure to give yourself a unique experience in musical entertainment and also do a fine supportive job in assisting the Missionary program? Mrs. Peterson runs a smaU drapery in Orem and became interested in helping the Warrens through her sister, Mrs. Dan E. Vacher, who is in the same LDS Ward in Payson as the Warrens. Materials are all being donated by merchants. Taylors will furnish the living room drapes, Waynes Carpet the boys bedroom drapes, House of Draper the master bedroom drapes and Zions Upholstery the rest: girls bedroom, kitchen and family room. Mrs. Peterson says that the response to her requests was tremendous. No one turned me down, she said. The work on the valances will come later, but Mrs. Peterson expects the major part of the sewing to be completed Saturday. shop Childrens theatre to stage "Three Fairy Godmothers" will arrive at 5:30 p.m. on the big red fire engine and will have a treat for all good boys and girls at the City Christmas Tree. The Key Club is a service organization, whose members wish to help make abetter community as well as improvement in themselves as individuals. They will usher at various school happenings and will be Key available for service as needed. Club motto is We Build. The charter night banquet was held at the Payson High School cafeteria, where officers were installed as follows: Robert Chappie, president; Brian Kitteridge, vice president; Randy Rosenbaum, secretary; Kevin Olsen, treasurer.
