Show edar cedar group sponsors series of lectures special to ito the times the cedar city community adult education committee Is spon sponsoring siring as a winters project a series tures on problems families are facing because of the war in addition to sending out special speakers to any club or church group throughout the county who requests the service the committee is arranging for a series of radio presentations tat ions mr robert geller presbyterian minister will be presented each wednesday at 5 p in for the balance of this month over miss aileen ericson of the home economics department of the B A C will appear on the sunday morning program of the church on january 21 and 28 at and a special half hour panel discussion under direction of mrs jeanne bethers bethem will be given on friday jan 19 from 7 to p in special speakers will come to par owan on sunday january 21 to talk in a combined sacrament meeting of the combined wards this meeting will be held in the west ward chapel at 3 p in regarding the problems of returning service men and women some suggestions are given here to demonstrate the type of family life problems being considered in these discussions cus families and friends should remember that the man who comes comer home after a stretch in the army whether he is whole or maimed is not the individual who went away expect him to be different you too are different make it a business to know and understand beach other to help him get back as quickly as possible poss ible into home life but dont donl fret freit if heis heis slow alow to assume again the response res responsibilities bili ties at home ra remember that when he was in the army his decisions were all made for him and it might be difficult for him to get into the habit of using his own time to refrain from asking him questions t I 1 0 ns about his war experiences or his injuries if he has been wounded in time he will tell you what ever he wishes to and it is his right to decide when and how he will come back with new points of view some of his views on religion and community conventions may be hard for families to understand and adjust to but time and family love and pai patience tience will bring about an understanding of permanent values to be understanding of those rejected for medical reasons rejection will affect each man differently to some it will be no problem while to others it will be a very serious adjustment it the boys fault if he receive a medical discharge or rejection help him to know that he has an important place in community life and is needed and wari wanted led |
