Show RELIEF BELIEF SOCIETY activities last tuesday afternoon pres mary marsden with a number of the relief ladies were at the home of sisters elizabeth and eliza holyoak where a special meeting was held and a very enjoyable and profitable time spent the sisters visited are aged and unable to attend the meetings of the society so the presidency decided that it would be nice to meet with them in their own home they have both been energetic and faithful workers in the society and only poor health keeps them from working now both expressed themselves as being highly pleased the last two regular meetings held by the relief society were well attended which is 6 very encouraging to the officers who earnestly urge a continuance continue nce of the same the social hours spent after the meetings are very pleasing thanks to an active committee let every man you meet during the day tell you you are ill look bad and should see a physician and if you are not ill by night you are one of the few who pay but little attention to public opinion this is is a fair illustration of the financial situation of the present day every body is crying of hard times and those having a little money are saving it for a terrible time to come the banks fear a run and refuse to lend money to enterprising men who would put the money in circulation there is no occasion for alarm agriculture prospects were never so good as aa they are to day political organs keep up the cry for political purposes let us cease cry crying inghard hard times and in a few weeks we will enjoy prosperity and smile at the chronic croaker any man can take a newspaper it is the cheapest thing he can buy every time a hen clucks and lays an paper is paid for that week it costs coats less than a postage stamp less than to send or receive a letter it comes to you every week rain or shine calm of stormy no matter what happens it enters your door a welcome friend full of sunshine cheer and interest it opens the door of the great world and puts you face to face with its people and its great events no man is just to his children or good to himself who does not take his home paper two hundred sample copies will be mailed this week to old residents of parowan carowan who are living in the various adjoining states they no doubt will be glad to get a paper that is published in parowan carowan Pa rowan and will subscribe for the same |
