Show a suspicious situation develops deve-lops the patrol will notify the proper authorities and assist in any way they can. The Christmas decorations decorat-ions for Main Street have arrived and the Association hopes that they can be put up as rapidly as possible. Hopefully this week. Merchants entertained a proposal to erect two poles opposite each other at one end of MainStreet. The poles would be used to support a banner proclaiming "Welcome "Wel-come to Park City" or some other greeting. The poles could also be used to publicize pub-licize other special Park City activities such as art festivals and labor days. Nothing No-thing concrete was decided on pertaining to that proposal. pro-posal. Also discussed but not decided de-cided upon was a proposal to reserve a portion of the TMI parking lot for tour buses with advance notice. Volunteer Force May Be Formed At the regular meeting of the Merchants Association this week, businessmen, still very conscious of the threat of burglaries, discussed the possible formation of a Park City Volunteer Jeep Patrol to help police in their sur-veilance sur-veilance of shops. Apart from helping safeguard safe-guard the City, the jeep patrol pat-rol would assist in rescue operations much the same way the patrol organized in the North end 'of the County does. The idea of such a force has been met with considerable consid-erable enthusiasm among business people and currently current-ly Dave Novelle and Charlie Sweeten are investigatingthe ramifications of becoming fully chartered. The proposed Jeep Patrol plans not to be involved in the apprehension of criminals crim-inals but plans primarily to do surveilance work. If |
