Taylor Verdon Ballentyne Eddy Berry and Bud Hall lIall While talking with some of the best hunters of the high school the reasons for most of them not getting their deer was learned One boy was heard to say I started out early the opening morning and didn't go very far when a great greot monstrous mon mon- monstrous monstrous buck weighing at least lbs Ibs stood looking at me I cocked my gun with a nervous hand and gently pulled the trigger nothing happened I re repeated re- re the motion again and still noth- noth nothing noth noth- nothing nothing ing happened I Inspected my gun and discovered that I had forgotten to load it tt that morning Another one was heard to say I had hadI I Just got on the hill when out of or no no- nowhere nowhere where came a deer that had a spread of or horns 3 ft across He Ho didn't see me and walked right up to me I drew one frightened breath and raised by gun Through the tho sights I caught his big brown b own Innocent eyes I Just couldn't bring being myself to pull the trigger The longer I looked I could even see tears In his eyes eye I dropped my gun and let him walk away The Knights of Pythias are sponsoring their sixth annual Public season tickets now On Wednesday November 1 I the town was shocked to hear of the disappear disappear- disappearance ance of three of Its mighty Buffalo Bill Hendon Daniel Boone Weaver and Davey Crockett Wright It seems the three mighty hunters not got ot lost while hunting In the Smithfield swamps Upon learning of the boys disappearance disappearance a hunting party was sent out in search of the three hunters After the party had searched for about an hour they t ey received word that the three hunters and I use the word loosely were safe at home It seems the three boys had decided to go hunting elsewhere and had not told anyone where they planned to go On Sunday November 5 5 Mr Milliner was employed on a rescue party A deer hunters horse had fallen on him while hunting this mans hunter's partner got Doctor Bingham In his Jeep and stared out On the trip down through Jensens Jensen's Hollow the doctor tipped the Jeep over twice The men had to pry the Jeep doors open to get the doctor out The doctor had only broken his eye eyeglasses eyeglasses eyeglasses glasses which never hindered him a bit He climbed off aT a horse and went to the wounded hunter I On the way up the canyon the three men found one more hunter to help them They made a stretcher out of at a I quilt and a blanket and packed him down the hill hUt After awhile many other deer hunters relieved them of at their I burden The horse had rolled over and over the deer hunter which caused him to tobe tobe tobe I be sick tram from from shock He also a kinked neck The hunter Is now In the th e hospital In Coalville The Girls' Girls Day dance which was held November 3 3 was a a. big success There Ther e was punch and small carnival hats for fo r sale There was also a marriage bureau for tor some of the ones who were anxious During the Virginia Reel three large larg e sacks of or balloons were Vere broke open and andall andall andall all the boys had a popping good time The girls worked very hard on
