" The automatic record-spinners are beautiful and can bring back fond memories of pizza houses, ice cream fountains or other teen hangouts of years past. But Wasatch Trade Co. is not just a jukebox dealership. It also has glassware, ceramics and a wide variety of hand-crafted articles. Jukeboxes just happen to be the speciality of proprietor Charlie Torrence. Tor-rence. "I get jukeboxes from all over the world and just started carrying them last year," Torrence said. "It took me two years to get to know the small group of guys that deal them. There's only about a dozen people in the United' States that deal in the jukeboxes and they're not all retail buyers either." He said the bottom line price on one of his jukeboxes is $4,000 while the top jukebox retails for $15,000. Torrence said his company sometimes does its own restoration, and other times he ships the jukeboxes to the Midwest to be worked work-ed on. Landmark Inn gives trainees a hands-on hotel education by KL'KT KIDMAN Hfiord staff writer The Best Western Landmark Inn and Jedediah's Restaurant at Kimball Kim-ball Junction is the site for a new job training program for underprivileged underprivileg-ed youths. The program, which began this month, is being coordinated by Mike Matthews, general manager of the Landmark, and Dianna Jones, a vocational training specialist from Columbus Community Center, an affiliate af-filiate of the Salt Lake City School District. The Columbus Community Center is a rehabilitation i'acilitv that has been operating similar successful programs since 1968. "We are taking these underprivileged under-privileged kids and working them into in-to the hotel environment," explained Matthews. "We provide the facility, and the Columbus Community Center provides the training. The program hasn't been going on that long, but so far it seems to be working work-ing out very well." The Landmark Inn. which opened last year, is owned and operated by the Homes' Lodging Properties. The job training program began at the Landmark's sister company, the Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge, in Salt LakeCitv. "They've had the training pr gram in Salt Lake for quite sdk time and it is highly successful. said Matthews.
