"We're going to get a skateboard park if it takes several more years, but I don't want it to take several years," he added. "The city probably very well could fund it, but I feel like it's really important that as a community that we come together and put some money together. If we start to get close, we'll find the funds to make this thing work." Officials in the fall might also request money from Summit County's Recreation, Arts and Parks Tax, the mayor said. By PATRICK PARKINSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S REPORT An investigation into who may have burglarized several unlocked vehicles in Pinebrook last week continues but detectives say they haven't airested suspects. Items stolen from about nine cars include cash and electronics devices like iPods, authorities say. "Information like that makes us believe they were after specific things," Summit County Sheriff's Office Capt. Sherm Farnsworth said. Some of the thefts April 11 occurred inside garages, he said, adding that, "nine in one night are pretty frustrating." Meanwhile, last month a woman suffered minor injuries when she was struck by a Ford Taurus while riding her bicycle on Bitner Road around 11:45 a.m. The man who was driving the car said the woman hit him. But Farnsworth said damage to the bicycle indicated the vehicle struck the rider from behind. No citations were issued, he said. Several horses were reportedly loose near State Road 32 in Peoa April 3 at 4:16 am. A teenaged boy from South Summit was injured April 2 when he crashed while riding an all-terrain vehicle around 5:20 p.m. The boy was wearing a helmet when the machine rolled on top of his chest, a Sheriff's Office report states. On April 2, a woman in western Summit County told an officer she was raped in the area several years ago. But after questioning the victim and male suspect, no evidence supported her accusation, investigators say. A 1-year-old girl reportedly suffered a head injury and was bleeding inside an apartment on Kilby Road April 7 at 10:32 a.m. On April 6, a woman claimed a man tried to force himself inside her home on Oslo Lane.
