Show Joseph Albert Holindrake Obituary Joseph Albert Holindrake died March 14, 1981 at Cardiff by the Sea, Calif. He will be buried in the Old Glenwood Cemetery on Friday, Fri-day, March 27, 1981 at 22 a.m., where his father and three infant brothers are buried. He was born at 1049 Park Ave., Park City, May 24, 1898 to Albert and Nancy Holindrake. His father was a miner and then was appointed as a police officer. Only two weeks later while cleaning his gun in the old city hall, he accidentally shot himselt and died Jan. 12, 1908. His wife Nancy took in washing for the miners to make a living for Joe, his brother Bill and sister, Edna. She later moved to Nebraska and married Sam Nelson and had a daughter Jean. Joe worked on the farm in Nebraska until World War I. He joined the Army and served in France. He moved to Denver and joined the police department in September, 1928, where he served for 26 years distinguishing himself as a homicide detective. His fondest memories were of his childhood in Park City and of his father so it was his wish to be there with him. He is survived by his wife, Loretta; his son Jim Holindrake Holin-drake of Costa Mesa, Calif.; his daughter Betty Coulter of Cardiff, Calif. |
