Show TT THE PARK Wednesday, July 10, IS74 CITY Park City Annexed The Summit County Commissioners voted on Wednesday, July 3rd, to annex Park City to the Snyderville Basin Sewer District. It was also decided to exclude certain areas from the district in order to make property assessments easier. Park City Manager Wayne Mathews and Park City Councilman Clem Han- sen attended the meeting and discussed the hookup fees which would be charged for the services of the project facilities. In related matters. County Commissioner Melvin Flinders was appointed to the Sewer District Board, and Mr. Mathews suggested Reed Pace continue to serve as Secretary-Treasurof the Board until the new Board meets to select a successor. A meeting on the Snyderville Basin Sewer District is scheduled for August 16th, at 7:30 PM, in the er Memorial Building. Mr. Jim Kaiserman of Call Engineering reported the status of the proposed airport to be located near the junction of Route 248 and Interstate 40. He stated the application for state and federal grants have been finalized. A bill for 40 percent of engineering expenses for the airport is to be submitted to Park City. Park City and the County are to share airport costs on a 0 60-4- basis. Other business considered by the Commission included a discussion of the utilization of computers by the county. Mr. Grant Orton, County Planner, said he would submit the names of several consultants to the County Clerk for advice concerning the steps to be taken for the implementation of com- puters. Mr. Paul Kelly, who is slated to replace Mr. Orton as County Planner, raised the question of requiring environmental impact statements from subdividers. It was stated that county ordo not require such dinances statements and therefore subdividers could not be forced to submit them. Mr. Alan Frandsen, County Attorney, said the or- dinances could be changed, but until this is done, therequirement could not be enforced. The Call Engineering Company was authorized to proceed with an overall county water study. Summit county has received $3,000 from Four Corners, an i- nterstate governmental organization, for the study. Tis money is part erf a $15,000 grant, $10,000 of which is to' go for water studies and $5,000 for sewer development. It was reported that Mr. Kaiserman will attend a meeting in Summit Park to constat subpreliminary approval for a division plat. The meeting will be held (Hi July 9th. Mr. Kaiserman related the Federal Aid to Secondary Road Systems Project for Weber Canvon has been approved for COALITION Page 5 Miss Utah Try Those Dance Classes for fiscal 1976, and he requested the County Commission recommend a starting point. It was stated that since part of Weber Canyon lies in $90,000 Oakley, that town should be involved in the project. Mr, Darrel Cook of Moun-tainla- nd that reported organization has allocated $11,617.60 to Summit County in Public Employment Placement Funds until March 31st, 1975. Under title 2 $22,866.60 will be available for those who qualify and have been unemployed or underemployed for thirty days. Mr. Gordon Bates appeared before the Commissioners and inquired as to the reasons for his being refused permission to write bail bonds in Summit County. He said he writes bonds for Davis County, has no problems, and has paid all his liabilities. Mr. Bates stated he has a local employee to write the bonds and that such a service would save money for arrested persons. The matter was taken under advisement. Mrs. Fay Bates and Mr. Brent Ball sought a license to sell beer in a building Mr. Ball is constructing. Commissioner Flinders asked if Mr. Ball had obtained a building permit and Mr. Ball responded he was in possession of an old permit wheih has no expiration date. This matter was also taken under advisement. Mr. Cliff Rhead applied for a Class A beer license (off premises), and this matter was tabled for consideration. It was stated that the County Sheriff would be consulted on license applications. The Commission decided to advertise for bids on money to be borrowed by the county. The bids on the $150,000 loan will be opened at 9 AM on July 17th. Letters will be sent to Walker National Bank, First Security Bank Silver. King Bank, and Kamas State Bank informing them of the action. Mr. Tom Crittenden was hired to establish a recreation program for the county and this program will be reviewed at the end of the summer in order to evaluate its success. Five hundred dollars was allocated for the purchase of equipment. The Commission moved to advertise the sale of steel beams which were left over from construction of the Hobson Lane Bridge. The sale will take place at 9 AM on July 17th. A decision was made to make a quit daim deed to Mr. Dale Nelson of Park City in order to correct an erroneous deed which was issued in 1959. The Commission adopted an ordinance to vacate certain roads in Summit Park. Also concerning . Summit Park, it was related that the state is asking $4,000 from the county for the purchase of the lots on which the fire station is situated. This is approximately half the market value. all-bee- r Teen-ag- er Candidate Dance classes have been happening every Monday and Wednesday between 5 PM for children as well as adults. The childrens classes have proceeded along quite successfully, with ages ranging from 3 to 8 years old. These classes have been focusing on rhythm, movement and shapes, and all kinds of enjoyable dance games. The adult classes have concentrated (xi learning various dance styles, such as jazz, along with basic modern dance concepts and how to relax various body tensions through the use of movement. The first session lasted for four weeks and is now coming to a close. The second session will begin Monday, July 18th, and will 4-- run until July 31st. Old dancers will be welcome as well as any newcomers who wish to give dancing a try. Lynne Maxfleld Miss Lynne Maxfield, age 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald S. Maxfield, has been selected to be a finalist in the 1974 Miss Utah Teen-AgPageant to be held July 19, 20, 21, 1974, at the Salt Palace, Salt Lake City, Utah. The contestants will be housed at the Ramada Inn, Salt Lake City. The Miss Utah Teen-AgPageant is the official State Preliminary to the MISS NATIONAL TEEN-AGEPAGEANT to be held in Atlanta, Georgia, August 31, 1974. There will be contestants from all over the State comThe peting for the title of Miss Utah is Andrea Perkins, of reigning Miss Utah Teen-AgBlanding, Utah. Contestants will be judged on scholastic achievement, leadership, poise, personality, and appearance. There is no swimsuit competition. Each contestant will recite an essay on the subject Whats Right About America.
