The evidence used to support such an evaluation is basic, a large number of people had a great deal of fun. The Park City Chamber of Commerce in general, and Mrs. Connie Woolsey in particular, are to be publicly commended for a job well done. Only days before the Fourth of July, it seemed our town would have no organized observance of this national holiday at all. In one short week, Mrs. Woolsey and the Chamber put together and publicized a program which entertained young and old alike. The enthusiasm of the volunteer workers was infectious and was magnified by the many gleeful participants and spec- tators. The solemnity of a flag ceremony, the gaiety of a contest, and the inparade, the hilarity of a of a rugby game were all present and tensity mingling to form a total experience. Given the results of a program of such a minimal incubation period, it is almost exhilarating to imagine what could be accomplished if next years celebration is allotted the attention and time it warrants. The Fourth of July is one of the few dates, if not the only date, on which fellow citizens, both firmly established and newly arrived, both young and old, can gather together with a common festive attitude. The opportunity is rare, perhaps we should strive harder to make the most of it. In addition to the Chamber of Commerce and Mrs. Woolsey, such people as Kathy Kocinski and Wayne Putnam. along with the numerous volunteers and contributors, are worthy oi the communitys gratitude. We of the Coalition would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those involved for creating a day of unanticipated enjoyment. pie-eati- ng O&IM Four persons were very seriously injured last week as a result of attacking dogs and falls from horseback.
