All involved deserve a hearty thanks from the community for the fine job they have done this school Tim-panog- as year. RESORT OPENINGS The Resort has announced that commencing May 25th the gondola and mine train will begin operating on a weekend only basis. Fulltime ODeration will start on June 15th. Hours for the gondola will be 11 AM until 6 PM while the mine train will depart at 11 AM, 1 PM, 3 PM, and 4:30 PM. CONGRATULATIONS The Coalition wishes to congratulate the citizens of Park City for their wisdom and foresight in voting in favor of the special bond issue . We felt that the merits of the proposed bond sales were obvious and we were happy to find that the community agreed. The outcome was a big step toward guaranteeing a first rate education for our children and, in turn, insuring a strong future for our city. Pat yourselves on the back, you deserve it. ARMENGOLFIIIE Fire whistles at appoximately 7 AM on Saturday, May 18, summoned the Park City Volunteer Fire Department to the Armengol residence at 8 Hillside Avenue. The cause of the fire is still unknown, as the Armengol family was away for the weekend. It appeared that the fire started in the basement, spreading up the chimney. The Fire Department, along with other volunteers, got the blaze under control, thus soothing the fear of the many onlookers that the fire would spread to the neighboring houses. The Department did a competent and thorough job in quenching the flames and deserve praise from all. -- - CLEANER PARK CITY THANKS! The people who turned out for Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 18, did a terrific job. Especially noticeable are Swede Alley, Upper Park Avenue, Upper Woodside and, of course, Main Street. Many thanks are due to the Army Reserves Unit that contributed equipment as wrell as willing manpower, the Resort for the Summit Construction truck, Anderson Lumber for their truck, the townspeople who also provided trucks, and above all, the people who showed up at the top of Main Street in the morning and worked hard throughout the day. Hopefully, their hard work will inspire others to clean up their yards. The only disappointment of the day was that more people didnt show up to help. Maybe next time around, theyll participate too. The efforts of those who did help are much appreciated.
