Father McNicholas serves as Pastor of Saint Mary of the Assumption Church, the oldest Catholic church still in use in the state of Utah. The original church was destroyed in the fire of 1898 and the stones from the original were used to construct the existing building on the same site. The Park City Parish consists of approximately one hundred and fifty families, some of which travel from Coalville, Echo, Kamas, Heber, Midway, Charleston, and Summit Park. Father McNicholas remarked that during the height of the winter and summer tourist seasons, the church often has standing room only. Aside from his devotion to God, Father McNicholas abiding passion is golf.
