Scott also believes that his own skiing ability has benefited from observing young skiers. Scott has both praise and criticism for Park City and the G.P.C.C. RENTALS LESSONS WITH A BIG HEART Scott Beall is a young man possessed by a love for the great outdoors. At the age of twenty, he is an accomplished alpine and nordic skier, hunter, backpacker, camper, and fisherman. Scott was bom in Salt Lake City, moved to Summit Park at the age of seven, and nine years later his family settled in Park City. He graduated from East High in Salt Lake where most of his free time was consumed by competitive skiing. Scott worked two summers on the trail crew for the GPCC and their enthusiasm, aggressiveness, desire for quick $500 TOURS uI 5 3 ex- tensive rock removal, and treatment of damaged trees are all a part of the trail maintenance conducted by G.P.C.C. Additional tennis courts and employee housing with rents in line with wages are two more changes that Scott would welcome. Perhaps the strongest sentiment expressed dealt with the youth ski programs existing in Park City. At present there are the Park City Racing Team and the Park City Ski Foundation. He would like to see these two entities merged and given the suph port needed to mold a ski program such as the one in operation at Sun Valley. Coaching twelve to fourteen hours a week, he instructs young people ranging in age from eight to seventeen. Scott feels that children, on the whole, are easier to teach than adults.
