Show THE PARK Wednesday, August 29, 1974 CITY COALITION is China (pronounced Chee-na- ) this weeks Coalition Canine. The female Lhasa apso to Carmen and Otto belongs of Mileti spaghetti fame. China was bom in Salt Lake City and has been in town for only two weeks. Lhasa apsos are an unusual breed of dog, native to Tibet. They were bred to act as sentinels for the temples of that high country. The sale of this canine, which is regarded as almost sacred, is prohibited in Tibet. Before leaving their native land, Chinas ancestors locked the temples and brought with them their Tibetan monk keys. With no temples available in Park City, China has had to make do with the revered things at hand. She has become the Lhasa apso of lasagna. Guarding the tables? You bet! Eventually, China will have long hair on her paws, which will Enable her to walk on the evented snow, and will also have long hair covering her eyes, which will prwent snow blindness and seerqg. Excellent hearing compensates the Lhasa apso for its poor ; 'eyesight. Miraculously, it can listen to Tibetan road maps and finfi its way around. Carmfcn categorizes China as almost trained. This being means the little fur muff relieves herself outdoors if she happens to be outdoors. The almost is appended to cover instances when shes indoors. As the photograph indicates, China is still small enough to be placed on a table, but those days will soon be pasta. nine-week-o- Summit Park Home Sites of Distinction Page Muckers Canadian Bound ld BY CORKY FOSTER After 4 years of Rugby played only in the Continental United States, the Park City Rugby Football Club travels abroad to Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, for its first International Tour. Premiere tours such as these find most rugby clubs winging to England, the birthplace of the game. P.C.R.F.C. founders concluded that Canadian Rugby would offer a great learning experience, as well as be Mucker more in line with the average pocketbook. In addition, the tour should serve a promotional stepping stone for future Challenge Cup Tournaments. Canada is among the nine rugby playing nations showing keen interest in the 1975 Challenge Cup. It appears the Muckers will make a showing, if the strenuous practices they have conducted this week are an indication of how they will play. Coach Alamo Dave Mueller when asked what he expects from the Canadian opposition replied, We dont know whats up there. Mueller added, Tourney experience always lends strength to one part of the game or the other.' P.C.R.F.C. will probably encounter strong opposition with the ability to display finesse not witnessed by the Muckers this season. The tour will also be one of the final opportunities for the Muckers to tune-u- p for the Challenge Cup Tournament in Park City, September 21st and 22nd. P.C.R.F.C. has chartered and reserved 23 seats with Air Idaho to Lethbridge. Anyone wishing to travel with the club on this histroic first International Tour should contact Corky Foster no later than Friday, August 30th, at The club will return Monday, September 2nd, and should arrive in P.C. at 10 PM.
