Dear EditorV I'm a federal prisoner doing a three-year three-year sentence for smoking pot in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm due to be released in about five months. I'll walk out with the clothes on my back, a bus ticket to come home on, and, if I'm lucky, ; a hundred dollars. What would you do, released from prison with a hundred bucks and no family or friends to turn to? ; L My greatest desire is to build a happy, constructive con-structive life that I can be proud of. And, of course, never to return to prison. I would suggest that making realistic social services available to people in this predicament . is not "coddling criminals". It's just good common sense to help a man become a productive member of the community. I'd appreciate it if you'd publish my address, ad-dress, as I' like to hear your reader's views and ideas on this. Sincerely, .
