Letters to the Editor Resident Says Thanks I would like to take the time to thank all those who contribute to our Ogden Valley News–especially Shanna Francis, Jeannie Wendell and their families. Shanna and Jeannie make it happen. The dead-line of a newspaper, along with their already busy lives, i.e. mother, grandmother, wife, student, daughter, sister, employee, etc. is quite a challenge in and of itself. I know their families sacrifice while they work to get the newspaper out bimonthly. I’m glad they make the sacrifice for all of us. Also, I’d like to thank the contributors—readers included. What a wonderful thing it is to hear about our neighbors. In the last issue I was shocked to hear about Doug Coleman’s death. I had no idea he had passed away. What a loss to our community; what a wonderful man! His kindness touched my family also. Thanks to all who took the time to share their feelings as we remembered our own stories about Doug. Wendy McKay’s article on pornography in our public libraries gave me a shot in the arm. I wish I had more time to get involved in our community, and she gave me an opportunity to get involved and I didn’t even have to leave my house. I thought public places protected us from such horrors. I appreciated the fact that she added our representative’s names and addresses to make it easy for us to communicate with them. I hope you all took advantage of Wendy’s research by letting our representatives know how you feel. Cheryl Ferrin’s article let me know how well Snowcrest is doing academically. Now that I no longer have students there I might not be able to share in their success without the newspaper. I’ve just mentioned a few wonderful articles that were in the last issue of the paper, and there have been so many more. It is hard for me to stay current on all that goes on around me but this newspaper is a good start for me. And we get this flow of sharing twice a month. Also, thanks to the advertisers who bring us coupons to use so we can save money. And just think—it’s FREE! Thanks to all those who advertise and make this all possible. We are very lucky to have such nice neighbors aren’t we? Especially thanks to you Shanna and Jeannie! Marsha Rasmussen 745-0584 Corrections —In the article Snowcrest Junior High and the 2000 Stanford Achievement Test printed in the February 15 issue of the OGDEN VALLEY NEWS, it was stated that, according to SAT scores, Valley fifth graders were rated fourth in the state. Valley fifth graders are actually rated fourth in the district, not the state. —In the February 15 issue of the OGDEN VALLEY NEWS, George K.
