George Hiram Davis ALBANY, OR - George Hiram Davis, 55, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2003 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident just outside of Twin Falls, Idaho. George was born February 22, 1948 in Rodeo, California the second son of Banard Richard Davis (deceased) and Bette J. Vicari of Cottonwood, Arizona. George married Shirley Anne Cox on January 25, 1979. They were sealed in the Jordan River Temple on June 29, 1983. They lived in Roy, Utah until July 1995 when they moved to Owensboro, Kentucky where they lived until October 1998. They then moved to Albany, Oregon where George was employed by Weyerhaeuser Company. George had been valiantly battling cancer for over 13 years. He was a very kind man and a great example in enduring life’s trials and tribulations with a positive outlook on life. George was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and faithfully served in several callings including Branch President, Bishop’s Counselor, Elders Quorum Leader, High Priest Leader, and Mission Leader. George served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. George was a wonderful husband and father. He had a tremendous sense of humor, touched many lives, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. George is survived by his wife, Shirley Davis of Albany, Oregon; four daughters: Kathy Davis of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Erin Call of Roy, Utah; Elisa Moulton of Ogden, Utah; and Elizabeth Davis of Albany, Oregon; three living grandchildren, Cade Allen, Averie, and Gavin Call; his mother, Bette J. Vicari of Cottonwood, Arizona; his three brothers: Richard Davis of Fayettville, North Carolina, Jed Davis of Gustavis, Arkansas, Robert Davis of Huntsville, Utah and one sister Diane Kuckenbaker of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. George was preceded in death by his father, Banard and grandson, Ethan Call. Funeral services were held December 2 at the Roy West Park Ward Chapel, with Bishop Christopherson officiating. Interment, Roy City Cemetery. Memorial services were held in Albany, Oregon at the LDS Ward Chapel, on December 6, 2003. Send condolences to family at www.myersmortuary.com Margaret Fay Hogge OGDEN - Margaret Fay Hogge, 87, died Thursday, November 27, 2003, at her home. She was born July 29, 1916, in Liberty, Utah, a daughter of Thomas George Jr. and EmmaRetta Atkinson Willard. She was raised in Liberty and lived in Ogden. On June 16, 1936, Fay married Elden David Hogge in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2001. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Canyon View 4th Ward Canyon View Stake. She loved Relief Society and served many years faithfully as a Visiting Teacher. Other church activities included: member of a sealing team in the Ogden Temple, Primary teacher, Sunday School Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, and Librarian. Fay worked for Vogel’s and Powell’s Drive Inns, Slim’s Cafe, and retired from Sears. She enjoyed family activities, fishing, golfing, traveling, quilting, sewing, crocheting, reading, camping, her grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Dennis Elden (Sandra) Hogge, West Jordan; Ronald Jay (Mary) Hogge, Liberty; Enid Fay Hogge, Ogden; Linda Kay (John) Fuit, Clinton; nine grandchildren, Denece (Michael) Cagle, Doranna Parsons, and Derek (Misti) Hogge, all of West Jordan; Marie (Scott) Kennedy, Roy; Annette (Cecil) Satterthwaite, and Travis (Lori) Hogge, both of Liberty; Heidi (Joe) GuiÅ bord, Sunset; Johnny (Tammy) Fuit, Franklin, Idaho; Striker (Moni) Fuit, Huntsville; 27 great-grandchildren, one brother, Lloyd “Bud” (Verena) Willard, and one sister, Dorothy (Gene) Sanders, both of Liberty. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Glen Willard, J. Parley Willard; two sisters, Emma Taylor and Mary Wight; and two great-grandchildren, Megan and Kyle Kennedy. Funeral services were held at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, Ogden. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, Ogden. Email condolences to the family at: lom@lindquistmortuary.com Genevieve Farr Taylor OGDEN - Our loving mother, Genevieve Farr Taylor, returned peacefully to her Heavenly Father on Friday, November 28, 2003 in Ogden, Utah. Mom was born August 18, 1920 in Ogden, Utah to Thomas Bramley and Annie Powell McKay Farr. She grew up in Smithfield, Utah attending Cache Valley schools. She fondly remembered her summers spent in Huntsville with her Grandmother McKay. She attended Utah State University and was a sister in Beta Delta Kappa Sorority. While attending college she met her husband, Ivan C. Taylor. They were married October 2, 1940 in the Salt Lake City Temple by her uncle, David O. McKay. Through this marriage they welcomed seven children, fourteen grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Genevieve and Ivan later divorced. Nana’s life was devoted to her family and church, and we that are left behind are the benefactors of her unselfish love. She faithfully served in the Primary, Mutual, Relief Society, and Sunday School of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her love of the gospel was great. She was a Captain in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and through this association developed many lasting friendships. Genevieve is survived by her children, Annette (Nolan) Adams, West Jordan; James (Delpha) Taylor, Hazelton, Idaho; Cathie (Paul) Richardson, North Ogden; Ivan, Jr. (Laurie) Taylor, Eden; Barbara Taylor, Denver, Colorado; Julie Rainey, Ogden; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tom; and brother, Bramley. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at Crestwood Care Center and Applegate Hospice for their care and thoughtfulness. Mom, you were an inspiration to all who knew and loved you. We miss you. Your loving family. Funeral services were held on December 2 at the Kingston Ward, 1425 Kingston Drive, Ogden.
