Show Page 4 THE OGDEN VALLEY NEWS Volume III, Issue IV December 15, 2000 Burn Victims Finally Go Home On November 18, the American Legion in Huntsville hosted a fundraiser for burn victims Tyler Montague, 18 and Lance Buchi, 18. A week later to the day, Tyler went home, and on Friday December 1, Lance joined his family at home as well. The danger of death has passed but it is just the beginning of another phase of their healing process. Tyler and Lance were at the Intermountain Burn Unit at the University of Utah Hospital recovering with burn scars over 95 percent of their bodies after surviving immersion in 178 degree water at Yellowstone National Park last August. For the next year and a half, to two years, the two will have to wear special wetsuit like, nylon support clothing that compresses the skin and prevents scar tissue from growing outward and causing lumps. They will wear the “second skin” 23 1/2 hours a day, taking it off only for a shower. Donations can still be made for those who are still interested in helping the families with escalating medical bills. Donations can be mailed to: CYPRESS CREDIT UNION 7160 S UNION PARK AVENUE MIDVALE UT 84047 (801) 255-5000 So many have made contribution deposits to Cypress Credit Union, and we appreciate them and thank them for their generosity. Tyler Montague and Lance Buchi and their families want to thank everyone for all of their wonderful support.
