Show faster trains wanted iv correspondent of lake herald writes as follows our railroad interests arc are assuming so much importance in this territory and the roads being sq liberally patronized a suggestion suggestion sul may not be out of place it t is desirable that some little change should hould bo be made in the running t time of the particular trains I have in view arc are the in morning orn and find evening trains to and from ogden the running time now V id is two hours the distance thirty seven miles I do not think it would be presuming if the management of the utah central were asked to make the running runn running inc time between ogden and salt lake one hour and twenty or thirty minutes this would leave thirty or forty minutes more in ogden which would give bubines men half an hour more and would save in ill many instances a I whole days lays dete detention antion there many of our citizens have branch houses in ogden and the time between tile arrival and departure of the Salt Lake train is too shor teven to go up tip the business part of the city and return the necessity of an all earlier arrival of hie the evening train in salt lake city is also very noticeable the train now arrives at just too late for business or if the evening train could arrive even thirty or forty minutes earlier parties could go to places of amusement transact inisi ness that would otherwise detain them over the next day and the mail would be distributed earlier in the evening which I feel sure would meet with general cneal approval I am credibly informed by rai railroad men that the additional cost and wear and tear of rolling stock would hardly be felt while the accommodation to the patrons of tile road and the traveling public ablie would be greatly appreciated the business busin m men of ogden and the public in genara general I cannot but indorse the above stated desire lets have faster time if practicable |
