Show KILLED BY A PASSENGER i TRAIN Peter Salanles, a Creek track laborer labor-er on the L'nlon Pacific, was instantly instant-ly killed at 10.25 yesterday morning morn-ing at Ilryan, yo., when he was struck by the westbound Overland Limited. His body was literally ground to pieces under the wheele of the speeding speed-ing train. Salanles wai with a gang of meu on a handcar which was taken from the track as the passenger train approached. ap-proached. When the car was on the track, Snlunles attempted to rerross the rails In front of the locomotive and was caught. The passenger train was in charge of Conductor George Allen and Engineer En-gineer William Gorman A brother of Salanles witnessed the fatality and was prevented from rushing rush-ing to his own death In an effort to save him by the more cool-headed members of the pang. The body of the dead man was shipped to Pueblo. Colo., for burial. |
