Show uu FOR LIQUOR LICENSE IN CANYON William G. Wilson and Clifford S. Potter applied to tho county commissioners commis-sioners today for licenses to sell Hq-our Hq-our at Tho Hermitage and the Oaks, in Ogden, icspectlvely, this season. The commissioners not being advised regarding the matter as provided for in the lato liquor law, referred the question to County Attorney Jensen for a legal opinion. Tho contention Is mado by some that the recent liquor law does not go Into effect until October 1, 1911, while others aro of tho opinion that the law prohibits tho sale of Intoxicants In the county outside the cltlos of the 1st and 2nd class after May 10. In this connection, It Is said that the country coun-try districts will have no option In the premises until 1913, and then an election will be called only upon tho petition of 25 per cent of tho legal voters embraced in the district Commissioner Moore reportod that he had advised the county bee inspector in-spector to make an examination of the bees on Canyon load. The report was accepted and filed. County Trcasuror Chambers reported report-ed that he will need extra help in his office next week In the handling of tho assessment rolls for the year It was decided thal the treasurer should get tho desired additional help. Improvements wero authorized on tho roads In the Huntsvillo and Plain City districts. nn |
