"Hadley, a cousin of Governor Hadley of Missouri, was arrested ar-rested Saturday night and taken to the city Jail where City Physician RIes attended him. Hadley Is an itinerant telegrapher and claims West Virginia as his native na-tive state He claims to have arrived In this city last Friday and began drinking hard. Saturday evening he was In tho M. : M. saloon on lower Twenty-ufth street when befell to the floor Officer A. O Mohlmau removed remov-ed him to pollco. headquarters For a time tho man's case was a puzzle to the officers and a physician was summoned, it being thought that he had taken poison. The doctor pronounced pro-nounced it a case of delirium tremens, tre-mens, however, and after Hadley had been given quieting drugs ho told the officers of a letter which was found to be a communication from Governor Hadley When questioned tho man admitted that ho was a cousin of the Missouri official. |
