Oct. 16 There were G.112 deaths from Spanish influenza influ-enza in thirty cities the week ending end-ing October 12, as compared with 19 the week ending September 14 when the disease got its first foothold in New England. In the same period there was -1,409 deaths from pneumonia. pneumon-ia. These figures, announced today by the bureau of census, do not includo figures from army camps, and with reports re-ports missing from all other cities and towns and country districts there was no way of estimating the total number num-ber of deaths. The heaviest toll from Influenza was 1.C97 in Philadelphia. The New York total was 979; Boston S50 and Chicago 571. |
