Show NEW CLUB HOUSE FOR RAILROAD MEN OPENED Superintendent W. A. Whitney left on the easibonnd train last night for Green River and this arternoon formally for-mally dedicated the new Green River Railroad club house, which has just been completed and elaborately furnished fur-nished by the Union TacHic company. com-pany. 1 The new club house is F.O by 70 fert in dimensions, with a large basement for a restaurant and two stories In height. The first floor is divided into a large vecopt ion room, a recreation room, h billiard parlor, and a record and class room, as well as a handsomely hand-somely and well-equipped library well supplied with standard works and the more prominent newspapers of the eust and west. There are also a dozen or more handsome bath rooms on this floor and other conveniences of a similar nature. The second floor Is divided into thirty-three well-ventilated and nicely furnished resting or sleeping rooms, and these are furnished railroad employes em-ployes at 25 cents per room. The basement has been arranged for an up-to-date restaurant and eating eat-ing house for railroad men and the prices here are also correspondingly lew. The purpose of the company Is to provide an attractive and comfortable resort for employes at a minimum of cost to those lr Its service. The build- ' ing is located a short distance from the passenger depot and railroad head- quarters and the front of the handsome hand-some structure is surmounted by a nice wide' porch, supplied with easy chairs, for the exclusive use of railroad rail-road men. No liquor of any kind will be allowed In the building, and pool and billiard tables will offer free entertainment en-tertainment to all railroad employes. A similar club house now exists at Rawlins and the company favors the erection of club houses of this character char-acter at the more Important division divis-ion points of the entire system. Superintendent Whitney is enthusiastic enthus-iastic In his support of propositions of Vhis character and has taken a deep personal Interest in tbe erection of the o'ub house which he helped dedicate today. |
