Show Road Commission Gets Highway Patrol Report The highway -patrol made 425 .arrests during December as compared com-pared to 500 during November according ac-cording to the report of the December De-cember activities of the patrol submitted Wednesday to the Road Commission by Supt. R- W. Groo. The greatest decrease came in the number of arrests made for failure to have drivers license. The December total was 70 as compared to the November total of 117. Forty six motorists were given arrest tickets in December for running stop signs as compared com-pared to 57 issued during Novem-( ber for the same violation. Other arrests were 173 for speeding, speed-ing, 15 for drunk driving, 6 for .reckless driving, 7 for running the ..red signal, 15 for improper passing, pas-sing, 2 for failure to give arm .signal, 6 driving on the wrong :side of road, 11 failure to yield ilght-of-way; 1 each for hit-and-run, failure to keep proper lookout, look-out, . over width load, improper parking, no muffler; 2 for illegal . use of spotlight, 24 improper lights, . 3 minor driving, 6 permitting unlicensed un-licensed operator to drive, 11 improper im-proper registration, and 2 for faulty brakes. The patrol also issued 102 warning warn-ing tickets as compared to 152 during November. It is expected that the educa-tional educa-tional campaign of the patrol will be extended by the addition of new patrolmen to the force. |
