Show 1942 PAGEANT Annual Spring Production is Called Off in Keeping with Church Policy Script to Jtre Preserved. In keeping with the new policy of the church which asks suspension suspen-sion of all stake gatherings with the exceptions of quarterly conferences con-ferences and priesthood groups, announcement has been made that Logan's annual spring religious pageant has been called off. The 1942 pageant was to depict the organization of the Relief Society So-ciety 100 years ago and was being sponsored by the Logan and Cache Stake Relief Societies. The members mem-bers of the two boards, Mrs. J. P. Morrell, Mrs. Ray B. West, and Mrs. Carl Prischknecht were called call-ed to Salt Lake City, Monday where the matter was discussed with the general board. Although It will not be presented this year, the script, which has already been prepared by J. Karl Wood will be preserved for future date. During the past seven years that these annual spring pageants have been produced, it is estimated estimat-ed that over 110,000 people have attended the performances. The first, presented in 1934 was in commmoration of the 50th. year of the completion of the Logan temple and since then various themes have been used. - All the 'pageants have" 'been written and directed by J. Karl Wood, now field supervisor for the church seminaries. Hope was expressed that the pageaiit movement wouia not cue, but that when world conditions permit, it will be renewed with greatre vigor to continue to make Logan the pageant center of the west. I |
