Show NATIONAL GUARD UNIT WILL BE GIVEN GRAND SENDOFF FEBRUARY 26 All throughout the state of Utah public entertainments are being held to help raise an emergency emer-gency fund for the National Guard which will entrain for California. March 3rd. The entertainment enter-tainment to help raise funds for our local Battery C is scheduled for Wednesday, February 26th at the Dansante. The Logan Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce, the Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Logan, Rotary Club, the Logan Lions Club, the Logan Kiwanis Club, the American Legion, Logan Business and Professional Women's club Battery C. the Veterans of Foreign For-eign Wars and Disabled Veterans are all cooperating to make this entertainment a huge success. Tickets have been placed with each organization to be sold in advance. As the Battery is composed com-posed of members from all parts of the county Including Franklin and Preston, this is really a Cache County event. All citizens are urged to support it. This fund for the Battery will be used to I purchase athletic and other equipment equip-ment which are not provided by the Government., It is to be an emergency fund for the benefit of the boys. The fund Is supervised super-vised and audited regularly so that it is used strictly for the boys and not for any other projects. pro-jects. The plan is to stage a big public pub-lic dance at the Dansante commencing com-mencing at 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 26th. For intermission the USAC band under the direction direc-tion of Professor Charles Steen will- present .some liyely selections. selec-tions. That will be followed by an exhibition of the Logan Sr. High school drill team under the direction of Major Phillip B. Shotwell. The band will close with a, patriotic number. '.The central committee which Is composed of the representatives of all tile civic organizations will expect ex-pect all citizens to purchase tickets tick-ets whether they can attend the special Battery C. Ball or not. The entertainment at the ball is of such a nature that old and young will be entertained. The members of the Ladies birthday club entertained at a no-host no-host party Monday afternoon in honor of the birthday anniversary anniver-sary of Mrs. Henry O. Hansen. Luncheon was served at one large table covered with a lace cloth and centered with a potted plant. The afternoon was spent in visiting visit-ing and playig bridge.
