Show Phylis Hunter gave a book re-! view of the life of Abraham Lin- I coin. A delicious luncheon was i served to 22 guests by the hostesses hos-tesses Euni:e Jones. Nola Jenkins and Alice Griffin. Mrsdames Scphora and Martha Clark entertained with a steak dinner Wednesday evening at. the home of the latter. Covers were laid for 18 guests. Out of town visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Mose Rigby and Mr. and Mrs. Emil W;nnergren. Parlor games formed the entertainment for the remainder remain-der of the evening. Mrs. Zlna Peterson entertained with a quilting bee Monday afternoon. after-noon. Those present were Ida Crookston. Edris Hansen. Stena Nelson, Edith Cooley and Eva Benson. Dinner was served. The PTA Ladies quilted a quilt at the home of Mrs. Gwen Salisbury. Salis-bury. Monday, which will be sold at the dance Friday night for the benefit of that organization. The officers were hostess to the 13 ladies present. Carl Jorgensen accompanied by his wife and Mrs. Ida Crookston motored up to Alexander, Wednesday. Wed-nesday. They called on his son Earl Jorgensen and family and the ladies spent the day visiting their sister, Mrs. Leo Banks and family at Ivans ward. Marcus and Ezra Cooley motored motor-ed to Salt Lake City Thursday to attend funeral services of a sister, Mrs. Malissa Spars, who passed away from Injuries received receiv-ed in an automobile accident earlier ear-lier in the week. Mr. and Mrs. John Rolph spent a few days of the week visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. War: en Hig";ey of Scua Springs. Mrs. David Rigby entertained ith a party Wednesday night honoring her house gurst. Mrs. Rcscoe Minson and son D.v.'id. who have been visiting her the past week. A hot dinner was served serv-ed to the following guests, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. Ora Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. Gold--n Rigby and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Barker. The tables were later arranged for cards which occupied occu-pied the remainder of the evening. even-ing. Mrs. Minson and son left Friday for their home in Salt Lake City. A Lions club was organized in Newton on Wednesday with the following as officers: William Barker as president; Rolph Tud-denham, Tud-denham, vice president; LeRoy Cooley, secretary treasurer: Al-fonzo Al-fonzo Christensen roarer and Carl Jorgensen, tail twister and 23 members. We expect great things to happen from this organization. The Ladies of the Junior club entertained their husbands at a no-host party at the home of Mrs. Lowell Jenkins, Saturday night. A delicious luncheon was served. Pinochle formed the entertainment entertain-ment for the evening. High scores were won by Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Jenkins and consolation prize by Henry Benson. Six couples were present. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Johnson of Lanark were the guests of Mrs. Emory Benson. Thursday.
