Show Thirteenth Annual Convention Con-vention Opens On College Campus Today Mark Nichols Nic-hols In Charge. Tentative program for the thir- teenth annual convention of the Utah Association of Future Farmers Far-mers of America which will be heli Thursday, Friday and Saturday Satur-day at the college has been announced an-nounced by C. L. Pocock, chair-' chair-' man of the college committee in charge of arranging the meet. According to Mr. Pocock, final arrangements for the conclave which will attract approximately 600 Future Farmers of the state and their leaders were formulated Wednesday when Mark Nichols, i state director of Agricultural education, edu-cation, met on the campus with the Utah F. F. A. officers, Professor Pro-fessor L. R. Humpherys and other members of the college committee planning the conference. Mr. Nichols Nic-hols Will supervise the three-day activities.- Among the highlights of the convention will be the opening program aiiiifgdfly evening in the college chapel, the judging contest! the following day and the program In the evening that will be featured fea-tured by a speech by Roger Sevy of Richfield, recent winner of the state F. F. A. public speaking award, and the session conventions on Saturday, the concluding day of the conference. Two sessions will be held in the morning, the first getting under ' way - at 8:30 ajn., and the second beginning two . hours later. A third will be held in the afternoon, starting at 1:30 p.m. Ai Registration1.Vor the meet will be held from 4 p.m., to 7:30 pjn., in the Utah State fieldhouse, and at 6 pjn., the executive session attended by the state F. F. A. officers and the advisory committee com-mittee will be held in the field-house. field-house. The state officers are Wells All-red All-red of Ferron, president; Clark Ballard of Hurricane, vice president; presi-dent; Lawrence Bake of Lynn, secretary: sec-retary: NaRav Ormond, reporter; and Reed Whittaker of Fillomer, sergeant-at-arms. Whitaker is a student at Millard county high school, and the other four officers offi-cers are all students at the U. S. A. C. Initial meeting of the conclave will be held at 8 p.m., in the college col-lege auditorium. Charles H. Last of Garland, president of the Utah Association of Vocational Teachers, is chairman of this meeting. Following Fol-lowing group singing and roll call, Dr. Elmer G. Peterson, president presi-dent of the college, will give the address of welcome to the visiting delegates. Program for the next two days then will be outlined to the Future Farmers after which the college student body headed by Harold Hiner of Salt Lake City, student body president, will be hosts to the visitors, presenting a student assembly In the auditorium-Judging contests will occupy the main portion of the slate for Friday Fri-day and the afternoon session on Saturday will conclude the conference. con-ference.
