Dr. Maw was born of Utah pioneers pio-neers on March 11, 1893 in Ogden, Og-den, and was educaVd in the public schools of Ogden and Salt Lake City and the LDS High School. He received his LIB. degree from the University of Utah; B. S. from the University of Utah; M.A. from Northwestern Northwest-ern University, where he also received re-ceived his Doctor of Jurisprudence Jurisprud-ence dgeree. He was admitted to the bar in Utah in 1916. Dr. Maw enlisted in the V. S. Army in 1917 and went overseas with the 89th Division where lie served in the St. Mihiel and Ar-gonne Ar-gonne sectors and also in the army of occupation in Germany. He taught school in the LDS high school, and is professor of speech at the University of Utah. He was a member of the general board of the YMMIA from 1928 to 1935 and since then has been a member of the Deseret Sunday School Union general board. From 1929 to 1938 he was a member of the Utah State Senate, Sen-ate, serving as its president from 1935 to 1938 inclusive. He was married in 1922 to Florence Buehler, and they have had five children, four of whom are living. . ' ' |
