Show CACHE BOARD NAMES NEW PRESIDENT Welfare Costs Drop More Than $16,000 During Past Year G. A. Clarke of Newton, Alfred Fallows of Hyrum, Dr. Ethelyn O. Greaves, state Farm Security Administration Administra-tion director and L. Ray Robin- A son, of Logan. Noble Chambers of Smithfield, director of the local board, presented pre-sented his annual report which revealed a total of $379,218.62 had been expended during the year as compared to $395,721.22 during 1941. The total number of old age grantees was reduced from 870 during January to 842 in December and the total expenditure in this division was $260,595.38. It dropped from $22,622.00 in January to $21,-438.50 $21,-438.50 in December, Mr. Chambers' report showed. Administration expense was low- , ered from $1753.63 in January to $1682.02 in January- while the aid to dependent children dropped from 130 cases in January to 85 in Decemjber. Total expenditure for the children was $51,036.06; $5708.40 in January ., lowering to $2319.50 in December. The department offered aid to eight blind people in the county to the extent of $2,733 he said. The totals ranged from $198 in 'January when eight cases were receiving re-ceiving assistance to $214 in December De-cember when seven cases were on the record. In general assistance to the unemployable, un-employable, 157 cases received aid in January with an expenditure of $2983.50. This dropped to 88 cases in December for an expenditure expendi-ture of $1958, he said. Total amount of aid in this category was $29,524.57. In general assistance to employables, the department had 26 cases in January for $335. This was reduced to two cases in December De-cember for an expenditure of $43.29. A total of $1,286.12 was expended ex-pended in this department. Other expenses, Mr. Cahmbers reported were nine burials, $755; foster care, 10 cases, $2,472.65; indigents in-digents in institutions, six cases; $1,440; medical and surgical eye care, 205 cases; $1,883.36; transient tran-sient aid, $453.49; commodity rent, $621.25 for a total of $7,625.75 in the unclassified expenditure division. |
