Clean-up for Park Meadows and Thaynes and Prospector Park area, the week of May 11 -15. (15th Street North). On May 8th, the schools are going to participate, by picking up the areas also. The Elementary school clean-up will be 7th Street and south. The Middle School clean-up area will be 7th Street and north to 15th Street. The high school will cover the Park Meadows, Prospector Park and Thaynes Canyon area. The city will have its trucks available to pick up trash during this two-week period, so please help the city to make Park City clean, by setting your items in the usual trash pick up place. Community Education A new class in conversational Spanish began April 22 at 7 p.m. at the Park City High School. The class will continue for five weeks on Tuesday evenings. A children's ballet class will begin soon. Kindergarten registration Monday, May 18 will be Kindergarten registration for all children who will be five on or before Oct. 31, 1981. Please register according to the following schedule: If the child's last name begins with the letters A-L - 9:00 11:00a.m. , If the child's last name begins with the letters M - Z -12 : 00 -2:30 p.m. . . Please stop by the Elementary School or at the District Office Of-fice and pick up the Kindergarten registration packet. Lagoon trip Don't be left out! On Sunday, May 17, the Recreation Department Depart-ment will sponsor a trip to Lagcon. A special group rate of $5.50 pays for an all day pass 35 rides and also includes a bus ride to and from the amusement park. The bus will leave the Memorial Building at 9:30 a.m. and will return at dusk. Sign up now! Call 649-9461 for further information. Little league baseball We will be registering and organizing our teams soon!!! Registration will begin May 1st and end on May 16th. You can register at Parley's Park or Park City High School soccer field on May 9th or May 16th during the soccer games. If this is not convenient, registration may be completed at the Recreation Department, Monday through Friday, 3-10 p.m. Registration fee is $12. Tentative plans are for the league games to start June 2nd and end by July 11th. We are hoping for two leagues. One for boys and girls ages 7, 8 and 9 years old; and one for boys and girls ales 10, 11 and 12. We need help from parents or interested adults in the following areas: coaches, assistant coaches, umpires and scorekeepers. If you want to volunteer your services in any of these areas, please contact Tom Tebbs, 649-8881 or leave your name at the Recreation Department 649-9461. New numbers for animal control help Summit County Animal Control is available to respond to all complaints regarding animal laws and ordinances. All emergency calls (dogs attacking persons or livestock, and injured in-jured animals) are now handled by an answering service at 974-3309. This is a seven days a week, 24 hours a day number. All other calls, including stray dogs, barking dogs, and dead animals will be handled during regular business hours, Monday Mon-day thru Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m: Call Park City 6494072 or Coalville at 336-2503. The Sheriff's dispatch is not handling any animal control calls. If you have any questions or need further information please give us a call! Jazz action In case you haven't hear, Jazz Action, the dance exercise that is sweeping Park City's women off their feet, is now taking place on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Memorial Building. Call the Recreation Department for further fur-ther information. Little league baseball Register for little league! On May 1st through the 16th boys and girls may register at the Memorial Building Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. -10 p.m. Registration will also take place at Parley's Park or Park City High School Soccer field on May 9th or May 16th during the soccer games. Women's soccer team Who says Park City doesn't have the strength to build a women's soccer team? Well, times are a changin' folks, and we've got the enthusiasm to start one. All interested ladies who really want to get in shape for summer (even if you don't know anything about the game) contact the Recreation Department at 649-9461 or Stacey at 649-7015. - . Community clinic The Park City Community Clinic, a non-profit family planning plan-ning program, will be having a clinic on Thursday, May 7. This will be an afternoon clinic. The services provided include: in-clude: physical exam, including PAP test; venereal disease screening; diagnosis and treatment of vaginal infections; counseling and education; pregnancy testing; and contraceptive con-traceptive supplies. The cost of these services are on a sliding fee scale, you pay. according to your income. All services are confidential, and everyone is welcomed. An appointment is required, and may be made by calling 649-5989. Ladies luncheon The 27th Annual Park City ladies luncheon will be held Saturday, May 2 at 1 p.m. in the Grub Steak Restaurant in Prospector Square. The luncheon is for any lady now living in the Park City area or who has ever lived here; -Ladies over 80 years of age are honored guests. County clean-up Summit County will sponsor a spring clean-up drive beginning begin-ning in May. Refuse collection will be made in the North Summit area beginning Monday, May 4, in the South Summit area on Monday, May llth, and for the Park City, Snyderville area on Monday, May 18th. Rubbish and trash not acceptable for normal household collection should be deposited curbside or near dumpster areas. Large and bulky items should not be placed in dumpsters reserved for household trash. All materials to be disposed of should be in place by 8 a.m., as collection will only occur once in each area. All city and county coun-ty residents and landowners are invited to participate. Registration information The newly formed Park CitySummit County League of Women Voters is encouraging voter registration as one of its first projects. You need to register if you are a new resident, of, if you did not vote in the last presidential election. A change of voting district also calls for reregistration. To find out whether or not you are registered, you may call the Summit County offices in Coalville at 336-5951. You may register now by adding your name to the rolls in person at the Summit County offices in Coalville, or, more conveniently, by picking up a mail-in registration form that the League has made available at the Park City Library. Library hours are, 10 to 8 Monday through Thursday, 10 to 6 Friday and Saturday, and 12 to 4 on Sunday. Maps are available to help you identify your voting district. Alternate needed for board An alternate is needed for the Park City Board of Adjustments, Adjustmen-ts, to sit on board, reviewing zoning variance matters within Park City. Historic Commission needs members The Park City Historic District Commission is looking for qualified people interested in preserving our Historic District. Qualifications are one or more of the following: 1. Licensed architect or member of the American Society of Interior In-terior Design, with demonstrated experience in historic preservation. 2. A member recommended by one of the following groups, a) Park City Historical Society, b) Utah State Historical Society, c) Utah Heritage Foundation. 3. A member living in the Historic District with demonstrated interest in-terest and knowledge of historic preservation. 4. A member from the Park City Planning Commission. 5.
