Nephi Hunters Have To Meet FUNERAL HELD FOR SEMINARY TO COMPLETED Poultrymen on Wednesday Night FOR CELEBRATIOU ON ARMISTICE DAY Activities to Commence With Firing of Salute at Eleven A.M. Service Star Legion To Entertain Ex-Soldie- rs. The eleventh anniversary of the signing of the armistice which ended the World War will be celebrated at Nephi on Monday under the leadership of the American Legion and the Service Star Legion. The officers and committees of the two patriotic organizations have been working diligently to bring about a fitting commemoration of Armistice Day. The public schools and nigh school have pledged their cooperation and Battery "E" of the National Guard will take, part in the parade with its complete equipment of field artillery. Blank ammunition has also beeu promised the local unit for firing the usual Armistice Day salute at ' eleven o'clock in the morning. A noon luncheon for all service men will be held at the Forrest Hotel. and a public meeting will be held at the high school at two p. m. under the direction of the American Legion, the students of the high school and junior high school, and the public generally being invited. The speaker or the day will be Judge George W. Worthen of Provo, Judge of the Fourth Judicial District Court, and a former service man. A big parade. to be participated in by the pupils of the public schools, the American Legion, the boy scout troops, nation al guard. Red Cross, and civic or ganiz&tions will be staged at 3:39 p. m. At 6:00 p. m. the Ladies Service Star Legion will conduct its anual banquet in honor of the former service men at the Stake Tabernacle, the wlve of the service menJemg ' also invitd guests. The day will close with the annual American Legion carnival ball at the Arlington. The American Legion extends a special invitation to all of the business bouses of this city, and all civic organizations to participate in the parade, which will form on 1st North street at 3:30 p. m. Two Hundred Forty Six People Were Served At Banquet Two hundred and forty-si- x people were served to a banquet fit for a king, at the annual old folks party held Thursday at the Juab Stake Tabernacle, which was followed by .a most excellent program. June Kendall acted as master of ceremonies, Mrs. Unity Chappell gave the invocation, and the adress of welcome was given by Attorney Wm. A. C. Bryan. The following numbers were on the program: two piano solos, Mrs Colin Mayers; one act play "For Jewels", presented by Mrs, Gilbert Bailey, and two children, and Mrs. Robert Winn and Miss Donna Garbett; Song and Dance Maxine Petty; Reading, Ned Higgin son; Vocal duet.
