In one of the most hotly contested games seen on the local diamond this season, the Nephi team lost to the Payson sluggers by the score of 6 to 5. It took ten Innings to decide the winner and the result was in doubt right up to the last minute of play. Ole Boswell and Worthington were the battery for Nephi, while Colvfn and Briggs did duty for the visitors. Both pitchers twirled league ball and it was a duel from start to finish the honors being practically even. Boswell was entitled to a win as errors were responsible for two of the Payson tallies. The game was featured by double plays, the local team executing three and the visitors one. Paul Grace got in the limlight in the second innings when he drew first blood with a home run. Glen Worthington hit a three bagger in the seventh innings, with singles by Bryan Petty, Rulon Cowan, and I. M. Petty, netted three runs, which looked like the old ball game was gone as far as the visit ors were concerned, but they came back fighting in the 8th session and scored two runs. In the ninth, the visitors scored two more which put them one point ahead. In the last half of the ninth, the local team tied the score. In the tenth innings the visitorsc scored one run, while the Seamon home team failed to tally. umpired the game. One of the disappointing things a bout the game was the poor crowd there being nearly as many Payson rooters present as local fans.
