VARIED RECREATION DUE If the negotiations for the land go through successfully, the Coordinating Council has big plans for the area. At its last meeting, the committee, discussed procurement of equipment for the proposed park and other problems of development. On the list of suggested uses for the park are ball diamonds, a play area, picnic groves, an arbor, tennis courtsf and a swimming JOINT USE HOPED FOR Because of the expense of building and maintianlng a swimming pool and tennis courts, the committee hopes to work with the Jordan School District and the Salt Lake County Recreation Dept, by building facilities which can 16 Utah State Prison, Felon Follies, Aunt, Univ. 2 pm and 8:30 pm. - Charleys 8 of Utah, Pioneer The Salt Lake Water Conservancy District will place one mile of 16 inch underground pipe line in the Holladay area within the next forty-fiv- e days. The line will be constructed from the corner of 4500 South and Wallace Line to the corner of Wander Lane and Valley View Avenue, according to Robert D. Hilbert, General Manager of the District. Bids for placement will be received within the next thirty days,-ancompletion is expected by June first. The purpose of the line, said Mr. Hilbert, is to interconnect two existing systems and to Increase the delivery capacity of the Valley View line. That way, according to Mr Hall, the cost can be shared, and the use can be increased. The committee says it will work on any possibility of getting a pool. The organizations Interested in the park may contribute money, material, and labor for the pool and the rest of the park. If the residents of the area want, another possibility is that a special tax district may be set up to help pay for the pool. If the Salt Lake County Recreation Department and the citizens of Cottonwood Heights have their way, a new park will soon be on the way on 27th East at about 7300 tQ 7400 South.
