Show I I Lions Club Elect New Officers The Lions Club met Wednesday nt the home of Mrs. A. W. Madsen for their regular semi-monthly luncheon meeting. Election of officers resulted as follows: President. Joseph Matson first vice president. Dr. P. L. Holinan second vice president H. C. Jacob:., secretary O. M. Aldrich: treasurer. A L. Peterson; Lion tamer. John T. Cliff tail twister. Dr. A. L. Peterson. Reports of the district convention at Payson June 4th. were given bv Joseph Jos-eph Matson. R. W. Candlnnd. Dr. P. L. Holman, George Squire, J. W. Locke and O. M. Aldrich. Superintendent A. E. Jones of the North Sanpete School district macU a report on the proposed establishment of a Junior high school college affecting affect-ing the present proposed districts o. such a unit will cooperate with tlv University of Utah and Utah Agricultural Agricul-tural College. Mayor Bent R. Hansen read a communication from the Sanpete County Co-unty commissioners asking t lie clubs views on the establishment of a Polic; patrol of the county highways. The club voted to cooperate with the Count v officials in the matter and to permit the establishment of such a patrol, at the County's expanse. Dr. P. L. Holman retiring club president reviewed the work which had been brought before the club during dur-ing the past year and since its organization, organ-ization, including Municipal flood control, lighting system, public playgrounds, play-grounds, public camp-grounds, baseball, base-ball, streets, band, carnival selling tt club to the town, state exhibit from Sanpete County, water storage for the benefit of the North Sanpete irrigation district, retention of Battery D. N. G. U, selection of club membership and other items of interest to the community. |
