A Thanksgiving program was given in chapel exercises at Wasatch Academy this morning, by the Philo-lexion Philo-lexion Literary Society. The program pro-gram included the following numbers song, "The Orange and the Black," student body; "Little Puritans," songs and drills by primary students; "The Story of the First Corn," Myrtle Myr-tle Johnston; pantomime 'Hiawatha' 3rd and 4th. grade students; cho- ruBes (a) "The Sandman," (b) 1 "Naples." (c) "Cold the Wind May ' Blow," 7th. and 8th. grade students; reading, "The First Thanksgiving Day," Miss Helen Elben; Thanksgiving Thanks-giving Story, Miss El Rasmussen; vocal Bolos(a) "Give a Man a Horse He Can Ride;" (b) "Stumbling," Russell Goodman; violin and piano selections, Mrs. J. D. Simpson, Mrs. E. F. Gardemann, and Miss Louisf. ' Simpson; critics report, Miss Emily Fleming. In honor of Mrs. J. W. Cherry, the 'Home Culture Club entertained forty guests Tuesday evening at the home of Professor and Mrs. C. L. Johns. Several novel games and contests formed the evening's entertainment features and a musical program was presented by Mrs. J. D. Simpson, Mrs. E. F. Gardemann, Miss Grace Mac Sample, Miss Louise Simpson and rroi. jonns. Judge and Mrs. Cherry will leave next week to make their home in Salt Lake City, where Mr. Cherry will assume his duties as Justice of the Supreme Court, and a number of social affairs are planned in their honor before their departure. Mrs. Cherry has been an active club worker work-er and prominent in all social and civic activities. She was the founder found-er and second president of the Home Culture Club and has been an officer in the club every vear since its inception in-ception in 1909. She also assisted in the ongainizing of the Twentieth Century Club and was a member for many years. Two years ago she was elected the first president of the Mount Pleasant Ser-j Ser-j vice Star Legion which office she still holds, and is a'so an officer in the I state organization. She was the j mother of the Ladies Literary Club at Manti and she also assist 3d in the organization of the Mant' Ser- i vice Star Le'on. Both Judgo and Sis. Cherry have hosts of friends throughout Central Utah whose well wishes aexmpany them to their nev. home. Ivy Chaplei', No. 10. O. E. ' Calvin ipi'ts, Mr. and Mrs. Will. am Tebbs, Miss Cecil Tebbs, Mrs. Clement Clem-ent Tebbs, and Mr. and Mrs. Burns Tebbs. all of Panguitch have been guests during the week of Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Winters. Mr. and Mrs. G. V. Ballard and Mr(. and Mrs. George Robinson motored motor-ed to Salt Lake City last Sunday and spent several days there with friends. Mr. and Mrs. V. S. Wilson of Springville are guests of Mrs. Wilson's Wil-son's mother, Mrs. H. C. Beaumann. The Twentieth Century Club will meet next Thursday afternoon with Mts. C. W. Sorensen. The Campfire Girls entertained a party of young people Monday evening even-ing at the home of Miss Thelma Beaumann. Games and musical numbers were enjoyed' and light refreshments re-freshments served. Miss Jean Mahood chaperoned the party. Mrs. A. G. Nelson had as her guests last week her daughter and family, Mr- and Mrs. William Matson of Salt Lake and Mrs. Fern Maughn. also of Salt Lake. Miss Dorothy Jacobs and Miss Amber Hanford who are attending the B. Y. U. at Provo were home during the past week. Judge and Mrs. J. W. Cherry and family were guests of honor at. an elaborate Thanksgivingg d'inner given giv-en by Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Cherry at Gunnison, Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Wall entertained entertain-ed at a family Thanksgiving dinner for Mrs. A. Crane, Rev. N. E. Clemen-sen, Clemen-sen, Mr. and Mrs. O. N. Clemensen, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hone, Mr. and Mrs. Newton Clemensen, Miss Betty Wall, Harold Wall and Russell Goodman. Good-man. The members of the local Masonic Lodige and Eeastern Star Chapter will entertain next Monday evening at a party in Masonic banquet hall in honor of Judge and Mrs. J. W. Cherry and' family, who are leaving next week to make their home in Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. J. B Prince who are leaving for Logan. More than a hundred guests were in attendance at the reception and praise service given Wednesday evening even-ing in the Wasatch Gymnasium. An excellent program was renedered and light refreshments served. Mrs. T. M. Keusseff will entertain the Home. Culture Club next Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon. Mrs. Blenda Hampshire and Mr. and' Mrs. Victor Hampshire and family of Salt Lake visited Mount Pleasant relatives this week, guests at the home of Mrs. A. G. Nelson. Miss Marjorie Winters, who is teaching at Bountiful spent Thanksgiving Thanks-giving Day at home with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Winters. Mr. and Mrs. R.
