An open house will be held in their honor that evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Smith Residence, 25750 North 11250 East, North Milbum Road. The bride is a graduate of Lehi High School and Bon Losee Hair Academy. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Terry Sage, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Smith, and Mrs. Lawrence Jacobson. The bridegroom is a graduate of North Sanpete High School, Snow College and Utah State University. He served in the Nashville Tennessee LDS Mission. He is employed at in Salt Lake City. Grandmother is Fannie Shelley. The couple plan to make their home in Magna. Blackham will honor her for her 80th birthday at an Open House, Saturday, Nov. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Moroni Senior Citizen Center. Family and friends are welcome to join in the celebration. Dorothy was born Nov. 11, to "Armistice Day", 1918, Mouritz and Mathilda Peterson at home in Mt. Pleasant. She graduated from North Sanpete High School and then from LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. In January 1939, she began a job at Veterans Administration in Washington D.C. for two years then moved back to Mt. Pleasant. Brian Jorgensen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jorgensen, Mt. Pleasant, has been called to serve in the Oakland California LDS Mission. He will speak at 10:50 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 8, in the Mt. Pleasant Fourth LDS Ward. 1959, she' worked at Morom Feed Company and Prod Action Plant and Sanpete Valley Bank before it became First Security Bank, where she worked for 20 years. Her spare time was taken up with church and civil organizations, cake decorating and crafts. Her handwork is sold at Sanpete Sampler in Ephraim. Her family and friends and all those she worked with have made her days special. She takes a special interest in her 13 grandchildren and six V,'-- s ft-- Open house to honor Jay, Marva Olsen on golden anniversary , 'jI t ; fw " jr V i - A ' FOUNTAIN GREE- N- An open house to honor Jay and Marva Olsens 50th wedding anniversary will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Fountain Green LDS Church at 151 South 200 West. Jay has been a lifelong sheep rancher and resident of Fountain Green. He is still actively running his sheep and farm and was recently asked by Manti-LaSWoolgrowers Association to share with them the success of his business. He has served on committees of the Agricultural Soil Conservation Service, the Utah association and also on the Lamb Day Committee for many years. Jay has served in many LDS church positions including Sunday School and High Priest group leadership. He and Marva currently serve as workers in the Manti Temple. j,. temple Marva was bom and raised in Nephi. As a teenager she spent a few years in Los Angeles but returned to Nephi. She moved to Fountain Green after her marriage to Jay. She has been a member and leader in the Utah Lady Woolgrowers association. She has served her church as President of the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women. She was also honored to be the first Citizen of the Year for Fountain Green in 1988. sfr 5X ' ' ' - J- -' i - al Wool-growe- She then worked for the Soil conservation Service for a time until she was called on a LDS mission to East Central States. Upon return she was hired as a of North Sanpete secretary School District office. She married Ted Blackham, Moroni, and raised four children, Chesley, Paula, Diana and Karen. After Ted passed away in ft Dorothy Blackham Shellac comes from the lac scale, an insect that clusters on plants. Their greatest joy and achievements are their seven children: Steven (Candy) Olsen, Nephi; David (Jackie) Olsen, Fountain Green; Margie (Rod) Ostler, Orem; Laura (Jeff) Watson, Spring City; Susan Olsen, deceased; Connie (Wayne) Jarrett, Nephi; and Allen (Brena) Olsen, Fountain Green.
