Super bowl football This weekend marks the end of football for another season ). (unless you count the The Super Bowl is important. For one thing, it helps the children of the world learn their Roman numerals. I believe Sundays contest between the Green Bay Packers and the Denver Broncos is Super Bowl XXXII. Thats "32" for any of you who only read Arabic. I have been moderately interested in football since having friertds who played in high school. Football evolved into a place of prominence in our family when my oldest son, Jackson, "caught the bug" when he was but a wee lad. Denver played on television a lot and the Broncos became his team and thus the familys team. It was quite a sight to see this little kid with football cards spread out on the floor in front of the TV. He would put out the cards of the players in the game. He learned the game and who the players were. John Elway became his hero. A very concerned little Ogden boy wrote Mr. Elway a letter of consolation after the Broncos lost the Super Bowl in the late 80s. As a commemoration of the end of Jacksons high school football career, he and I took a trip to Denver for a Monday Night Football game. It was Denver vs. Oakland, the Monday before Thanksgiving. (I say, "If its worth commemorating, its worth taking a trip over. This is true for birthdays, anniversaries, births, deaths, holidays and end-inof football careers.")
