The campaign, which is sponsored by the American Library Association and the National Commission on Libraries and Information Science, received strong support from Governor Norman Bangerter last year when he signed a proclamation declaring September Library Card Sign-u- p Month throughout Utah. Librarians throughout Utah encourage youngsters and their parents to visit their local library m September and sign-u- p for a library ard. At many libraries, children obtaining a new library card will receive a special sticker stating, I got carded at the library.
