Show Editor Pyramid: In answer to an article published last week, I feel, in justice to myself, to state that I deny the statement that Malto Hopo is intoxicating, or that other cities prohibit its sale, or that bums or soaks have been at my stand, and. the sidewalk has never been obstructed, as he states. I am doing a legitimate business and living liv-ing up to the law. The would-be republican boss, who holds his job by the grace of the governor, after being rejected by the people and their representatives, raves and rants in an article,, signd "Citizen," published in the last issue of the Pyramid. No wonder he was ashamed to sign his name to the article, for he knew it was written in malice and hatred and that it is false and unfounded un-founded in fact. Mr. W. D. Candland would do well to let other people alone and look to himself. If he would attend to his official duties and try to earn the money paid him each month out of the people's tax money, he would have less time to devote in stirring up strife and turmoil in the community. com-munity. So long as I would do his bidding and come under his ring politically and assist him, I was a good fellow, but since showing my independence and acting on my own judgment, politically, po-litically, 1 have become the object of his wrath. He would do well to pick the beams out of nis own eye. There are many widows and orphans in the community who would be pleased to get what he failed to pay them as stockholders in his sheep herd several sev-eral years ago, when he claimed to be insolvent, and only paid them lifty cents on the dollar. He has now become be-come wealthy. Now would be the time to show his generosity and fairness. fair-ness. He should be the last man to cast the first stone, knowing how vulnerable vulner-able to attack his own record is. But, then, why should I pay any attention at-tention to his scurrilous, unfounded attack? If he had had the courage to sign the article it would have needed no reply, but for fear that someone reading me article might be lead t believe that it was written by a citizen citi-zen of some respectability and standing, stand-ing, I thought it proper to make this explanation. Yours respectfully. J. E. Gunderson. |
