She showed many traits of kindners to the poor, sick and needy, ministering minis-tering among them for years. Mrs. Framzen had been in poor health for some time, havi i;; been confined to her bed 5 months. The end came very peacefully Thursday, May oO. Thus passed away one of Spring City's noble women. Horn. May 20, to the wife of Wcs-ly Wcs-ly Beck, a son. Joe Mott of Theodore, died there last week, after a three day's illness. He leaves a young widow, Mrs. Nalda Bertelson. Mott formerly lived in Spring City. William Stoddart of Basalt, Idaho made' a recent visit with relatives in Spring City. Mr. Stoddard had just returned from a trip to St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Herbert White of Salt Lake has been staying with her mother Mrs. Julia T. Hyde for the past two weeks. A pretty home wedding took place Wednesday noon May 22nd., at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. Shorit, Salt Lake City, when Miss Ruth Frandzen of Spring City became be-came the bride of George W. Gus-more, Gus-more, Patriarch Joseph E. Taylor performed the ceremony. A dinner followed, Pa'riarch Taylor giving a toast, "A hundred years of happiness happi-ness to the bride and bridegroom " A number of out of town guists were in attendance. The young couple left the same evening for Denver and other Eastern points. They will make their home in Salt Lake at the Weller Apartments on 7th South street. Mrs. George Gusmore of Salt Lake City came out to attend the funeral of Mrs. Mary Frantzen Sunday. Mrs. James Peterson and her sister Bertie Allred of Salt Lake came down for Decoration day. A Missionary farewell party was given Daniel Lamont Jensen in the Tabernacle Sunday evening, June 2, 1912. The Ward Improvement Association As-sociation prepared a splendid program pro-gram for the occasion. A good crowd was out a -id a purse of $44.00 was given Elder Jensen, who will leave this week for a mission to Scandinavia. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zabriskie and their son, Vard, of Eu: eka, came over for Decoration day, remaining on a visit with relatives for a week. John A. Elder Allred will leave next week to fill a mission to the Western slat s. The body of Mens Peter Lar.-en, who died at Wellington, New Y. -d-land, April 2Gih, of typhoid fever, arrived at Spring City on Monday, June Urd, arm the luneral was heiil at. the Tabernacle the same day at 3 p. in. Elder A. L. Rawlins, of Lew-isfon, Lew-isfon, Utah, accompanied the body to Salt. Luke City, and Elder Benjamin Benja-min Goddar.l, of Salt Lake, brought the remains home to the family. Over forty carriages met the remains re-mains at the depot and accompanied them to the home. The funeral services wer? indeed very impressive, impres-sive, about 400 people attending. 1'he Ward Choir, with two solos and aquai'to-, rendered beautiful music for the occasion. The selections were: "Some Dav We'll Understand," Under-stand," "The Hope Beyond," "When ; The Swallows Horn .ward Fly," arid i "The Beautiful City." The speakers speak-ers were Li : id ot i Larson, who recoil re-coil !y returned from New Zealand; Elder Magelly, of Monroe, Eider Goddard of Salt Lake City; President Presi-dent Lund, of Mt. Pleasant, and Bb-hop L. O. Larsen, Elder Goddard ottering tlie dedicatory prayer at cemetery. Beautiful flowers were sent from the Saints in New Zealand, Zea-land, the New Zealand Missionary Society, and many from friends at home. The family has the deepest .sympathy of the entire community in the sad'loss that lias come to them in the death of their only son. Miss Ada Larsen and Joseph Anderson, An-derson, two of our prominent young peop'e, were married at Manti on Wednesday, June 5th. They gave a wedding dance t their many friends the same evening in the opera house. |
