Among females, the standardized death rate of spin sters is 1,039.1 as against 856.6 for married women wo-men of all ages. These figures are taken frcm Canada and similar statistics for the United States are not available avail-able but the findings are considered consid-ered applicable to this country. The bel-ef that physically defective defec-tive individuals tend not to marry is true in part but does net explain ex-plain the discrepancy shown. Generally, it is pointed out that a married person's life is better regulated in regard to sleep ng, eating and recreation. Moreover, men with dependents prcbably take more thought to their welfare wel-fare and avoid some hazards. In addition, the average married person per-son benefits frcm the solicitious care of his or her mate, which protects health :'n general. |
