Powell of Provo of the approaching; mar riage of their daughter, Miss Faun Powell to Mr. E. Waiter Bench of Fairview. The couple will recite vows in the Manti L. D. S. temple September Gth ar.d will be honored at a reception that evening at the Joseph Smith Memorial building at Provo. The bride-elect has attended the Utah State Agricultural college col-lege in Logan. Mr. Bench is a son of Mr. . and Mrs. John L. Bench of Fairview. He attended the Snow Junior college in Eph-raim Eph-raim and the Brigham Young university in Provo. Miss Powell has asked Miss Ila Terry, Miss Beth Madsen and Miss Fauntella Porter to attend her. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Stewart and family were visitors in Salt Lake City this week. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coombs and three children of Sahara Village, Vil-lage, Utah, visited in Fairview Sunday and Monday with relatives. rela-tives. Mrs. Emma Evans entertained at a birthday party last Friday afternoon honoring her son, Kent on his eight birthday anniversary. anniver-sary. The children played games and. dainty refreshments were served to all the young people present. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mower and family spent last Monday in Salt Lake City. RaNee Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ora Stewart, celebrated her birthday at a party last Sunday Sun-day afternoon at her home. The time was spent in playing games. Delicious refreshments were served to 13 guests. PriVate Merrill Mower, who has been stationed at Camp Roberts, Rob-erts, California, is spending his furlough in Fairview visiting with his mother, Mrs. Martha Mower and other relatives and friends. The Literary club met at the home of Mrs. Maxine Turpin last Monday evening. Three short stories were read by Mrs. Alice Nelson. Delicious refreshments were served to 8 members and 4 special guests. Mr. and Mrs. Re Vere Hansen and family of Logan, Utah visited with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Hansen and other relatives rela-tives and friends over the weekend. week-end. An open air meeting was held on .the Fairview North ward chapel lawn last Sunday evening with Mrs. La Dema Nordstrom conducting. The program was as follows: Congregation singing, sing-ing, "Count Your Many Blessings." Bles-sings." Prayer by Hilden Tucker. Tuck-er. The first speaker was Mrs. Martha Mower. A duet was sung by Mrs. Ellen Peterson and Marion Mar-ion Tucker. The next speaker was Mrs. Cristal Brady. A mixed trio was sung by Mrs. Opal Abbot, Keith Rigby and Terrol Rigby, which was followed by a talk by Elder Donald Stewart. The closing remarks were given by William E. Bohne. The congregation congre-gation sang "America," and the closing prayer was offered by Howard W. Rigby. A large number num-ber of people attended the meeting. meet-ing. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Green 'of Thistle are visiting with their mother, Mrs. Amelia Bills and other relatives for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Schofield of Magna, Utah are visiting in Fairview. They also came to attend at-tend the Golden Wedding anniversary anni-versary of their parents,, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Peterson will celebrate their Golden Wedding Wed-ding anniversary Saturday, Sept. 3rd. A reception will be held in the Fairview North Ward chapel Saturday evening in their honor. Mrs. Maurine Mower and two children of Salt Lake City are visiting vis-iting with Mr. and Mrs. Win Mower for a week's visit. Corporal Daivd Rigby of Fair-view Fair-view and Miss Eunice Nielson of Moroni were married ot Moroni on the 19th of August. A reception recep-tion was held at the home of the bride's parents at Moroni on the 23rd of August. The bride is the daughter of Nr. and Mrs. Ezra Nielson and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rigby of Fairview. Corporal Rigby has now returned to his station at Santa Ana, California. Miss Gwen Hartley is home on leave from Washington, D. C. where Miss Hartley has been stationed with the WAVES at New York City and Washington for the past 15 months. She is visiting with her father, Mr. Caleb Hartley and other relatives and friends before she has to report re-port back to her station. P Mr and Mrs. LeVern Jensen entertained at a delicious hot dinner Monday in honor of their "on Lt. Mr Jordan S. Brady has been very ill the past few months at his home in Fairview. Mr and Mrs. Urban Hartley were visitors in provo Thursday. Mrs. Roma Tucker entertained the Primary officers and teachers of the Fairview South ward at her home Monday evening. The reporter of the Pyramid from Fairview wishes to correct an error which was made in the last issue, it stated that George (Tony) Vance was home on leave visiting with his mother, Mrs. Bess Mower.
