Johansen, age 88, passed away peacefully after complications following surgery Sept. 16, bom on June 5, fa'. , tensen Olsen. She married Verl E. Jo-- ! hansen Dec. 18, 1946, in the MantiLDS Temple. She served in many positions and was a faithful and devoted member of the LDS church. Christie also served in the New England LDS Missioa Christie loved gardening and especially cared for her flowers. She loved the outdoors, drives along skyline, deer hunting and fishing. She loved to travel including trips to Europe, Alaska, New Orleans, California, Austria and New Zealand. She loved to try new things, including food, and was an excellent cook. She was a talented painter and wrote beautiful stories and poetry. She worked as a teacher, supervisor with the school district, and at the Moroni Turkey Plant. She was a devoted wife and mother, and care giver, taking care of her mother until she passed away at 106 years old. She is survived by her six children, Susan (Earl) Sumsion, Taylorsville; Ernest (Peggy) Johansen, Mt. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple May 15, 1965. Addie was a lifelong resident of Moroni. She was known for her generosity, kindness, and service to all. She was and worked at the Morom Feed Company Turkey Hatchery until she was 83 years old. She had a deep love for the members of her family. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. She served in three Relief Society presidencies, as a Primary Scout leader for over 20 years, and remained a faithful visiting teacher her entire adult life. Addie loved doing temple work. Her strong testimony of the Gospel ana life of service were a great example to her family and friends. She was someone who truly lived her religion. One of her loves was watching her boys and grandchildren play sports; she attended hundreds or games in person. Green, and was educated in Fountain Green, Brigham Young Academy, and briefly attended college at BYU and Utah State. Mont served the Northern United States LDS Mission in the states of Michigan, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin. His mission president was Brian S. Hinkley, father of the LDS prophet, Gordon B. Hinkley. He married NaDean Calista I 'Tidwell, July 16,1940, in the Manti IDS Temple. Together they had two children, M. Craig Nielson and Lynette C Cole. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943-194in Pans, France and Germany. After his induction and completion of basic training, he was r i sent to a surgical technician school Upon completion he was assigned to the 540th Field Artillery Battalion as a combat medic. He was honorably discharged in Gardiner General .4 Hospital Chicago, IL, Jaa 23, .1946. Mont served the citizens of Fountain Green in 1948 for 29 years as a merchant of Nielsons Store. He served in the Fountain Green City Council He was a member of the Lions Qub. Mont also participated in the LDS Church choir. He also worked for the North Sanpete School District as a bus driver and a janitor.
