Minutes of the Board Meeting of the Fillmore LDS Hospital June 14, 1967. "The Members of the Board of Trustees of the Fillmore LDS Hospital met in the Millard Stake House June 14, 1967, at 11:00 oclock a.m. with President Roy D. Olpin presiding and conducting. Opening Prayer President La Voy Kimball. Minutes of the meeting held May 10, 1967, read and approved. Brother George Collins, Assistant Superintendent of all Latter Day Saints Hospitals, asked the Board Members to excuse Bishop Robert L. Simpson as he had another appointment. Supt. Collins informed the Members of die Board that his committee is working to develop an improved method for collecting accounts receivable, since the Church Hospitals have $5,000,000.00 tied up in accounts receivable, which is needed to administer the Church Hospitals properly. Brother George Collins has been directed by Bishop Vandenberg and the presiding Bishopric to develop a central purchasing system from which the small hospitals, such as the Fillmore Hospital, will benefit through the purchasing power of the large hospitals, who purchase some $4,000,000.00 worth of merchandise per year. Superintendent Johns also read a fist of directions such as railings to be constructed and installed in many places in the hospital; a valve to be installed which will control the temperature of the hot water in order that it cannot exceed 110 degrees; and many other requirements which must be followed in order for the hospital to elegible for medicare. The financial report for May was discussed and the following items noted: Cash in Plant Fund, $12,937.09; Cash in Operating Fund, $31,531.60; Income for May $149.65, For year to date $1,518.41; Cost per meal for May .75, For year to date .69; Inpatient income for May $36.31, For year to date $32.07; Inpatient cost per day for May $37.34, For year to date $31.31; Average occupancy (excluding new born)-6- , For year to date-6.Average occuFor year to date-.5- ; pancy Newborn-.8- , For year Patients admitted for May-3to date-4Number of births for May-6- , Number of deaths for For year so far-2Number of For year so ar-May-0- , , For May-4for year to operations date-1Avenge length of stay for For year so far-6.May-5.The members of the Board were shocked and grieved to listen to the resignation of Superintendent Howard Johns to become effective August 1, 1967. He explained that he had enjoyed working with the members of the Board of Directors but that the pressures since Medi-carwith all of the Government with so many problems and Inspectors, to solve, he has been unable to get his proper rest, since he works from five oclock a.m. until 11:00 p.m. and still cannot comply with all of the government requirements. The Board members tried to persuade Supt. Johns to continue as Superintendent but he insisted that he just could not continue on the job. Brother George Collins will take the message to the presiding Bishopric, who will determine who is the new Hospital Superintendent of the Fillmore LDS Hospital. Benediction, Ashby Robison. All members of the Board of Directors were present. PAHVANT VALLEY SENIOR CITIZENS SCHEDULE By RuthZmilravich Monday, April 19: Gumbo Joes. Wednesday, April 21: Chicken.
