The violations included unautorized taking of five bobcats, loaded firearm in a vehicle, use of traps belonging to another, plus four miscellaneous counts such as improper spacing of traps, etc. Jackson w ill be sentenced on July 13th. On Tuesday, June 8th, also in Judge Ow en 's Circuit Court, a jury found Bart Robinson of Flowell guilty of driving under the influence and not guilty of a charge of possession of marijuana because there was a reasonable doubt as to w ho actually owned the marijuana found in Robinsons truck. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 80 days suspended, fined $455, instructed to pay back $250 in attorney fees because he was found guilty, and placed on two years supervised probation. This charge w as also a violation of a previous probation. In Judge J. Harlan Burns Fifth District Court on June 15th Jay Huntsman of Fillmore pleaded guilty to a second degree felony charge of stealing a computer. He also agreed to make restitution for the computer and for three other theft and burglary offenses. Huntsman will be sentenced on July 20th. Also in District Court, Fredrick Steese, Jr., a drifter, who had been charged with first degree felony burglary and second degree auto theft pleaded guilty to die auto theft. Through plea bargaining the court dismissed the burglary charge which A Fireworks Fireworks stemmed from a trailer house being broken into to obtain the key to the car. There was only minor damage to the trailer. The stolen vehicle belonged to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sonksen of Hinckley. Steese will be sentenced in District Court on July 20th. Linda Marie Hobbs of Delta was District Court on June 15th to 0 to 5 years in the state penitentiary for her part in several burglaries occurring in Millard County. Her sentence was suspended and she was placed on supervised probation and enjoined by the judge to not have any contact with her brother, William Campbell, who is serving years at the Point of the Mountain for these burglaries. T uesday, June 22nd, in Judge Ronald Hare's Justice of the Peace Court, Theryl Judd of St. George was found guilty of driving on a suspended license. Judd is noted for having the second longest driver's license suspension in the state of Utah - till 1991. With Tuesday's added years suspension Judd will not legally be able to drive until 1992. The prosecuting attorney, Clayton Huntsman, said Judd seems to have a total contempt for driving laws. He w as sentenced to six months in jail, suspended. Huntsman said, and that if he even drives a car, let alone has a law violation, he will serve the six months. sentenced in Huntsman On July 3rd at dusk Fillmore City and the Fillmore Volunteer Fire Department will be putting on their annual Fireworks display at the Millard County Fairgrounds in Fillmore. Prior to the Fireworks Display, the volunteer firemen will be contacting spectators for donations toward an enlarged display for next year. "HELP LICK FIRE suckers will be given to all kids. The Fillmore Fire Department asks for your help in preventing fires during the summer months. The Commissioners plan to promote tourism as an adjunct to the countys economy and feel that having a tourism week annually w ill aid in that promotion. The tourism week promotion will urge local citizens to vacation locally, within Panorama Land areas the N and to enjoy our prolific vacation spots 1 within Panorama Land that so many tourists trek to our area to see.
